- Vagharshapat - “Tradition holds that the main church was constructed at the site where Miadzin descended, known as Etchmiadzin. In Gregory’s vision, Christ indicated the location for the main temple with a golden hammer. Founded in 303, the world’s oldest cathedral has played a significant role in the history of the Armenian people. As a key center of the Armenian Church’s global network, the Etchmiadzin Cathedral now encompasses a vast area with numerous old and new churches, secular buildings, libraries, a seminary, and more.”
- Saint Gayane Church - The series of magnificent seventh-century churches continues with St. Gayane, established just 12 years after St. Hripsime. Built in 630, this church stands on the grave of a Christian virgin who passed away in Armenia at the end of the 3rd and beginning of the 4th century, approximately three centuries after her death. The church was restored in 1652. The yard contains many coffins, including those of notable military and cultural figures of the Armenian people.
- Saint Hripsime Church - Experts regard the architecture of Saint Hripsime as one of the finest examples of Armenian design. It was here that Armenian niches, providing seismic resistance, were first utilized. The construction of this grand church was completed in 618, leaving a remarkable architectural legacy, with details still in use today.
- Zvartnots Temple - Although destroyed, Zvartnots remains unique for its spiritual, cultural, and architectural importance. This grand church, named after the angels, was built over nine years and consecrated in 652. The magnificent temple, standing 46-49 meters tall, was likely destroyed by an earthquake, after which similar churches were no longer constructed in Armenia. The true appearance of Zvartnots was unknown for a long time until architect T. Toramanian proposed its original form, which was later confirmed by other historical evidence.

Average - It was good to have a direct transportation to the sights and to have an explanation there. Unfortunately, our guide was far from being motivated for his job or interacting with the group or making an individual approach. Maybe he doesn't like his job. I guess sharing a taxi and having the attractions looked up online would have been a way, too.
