Yerevan - Khor Virap - St Gayane Church - St. Hripsime Church – Etchmiadzin - Zvartnots - Yerevan
Khor Virap - Where did Christianity begin? It dates back to the late third century when Grigor the Enlightener was persecuted for trying to prove Christ’s existence. Khor Virap is the site of his suffering. The monastery faces the biblical Mount Ararat. We can say that everything started here and then moved to Echmiadzin.
Saint Gayane Church - The spiritual city of Echmiadzin awaits you, where you will connect with the roots of Christianity. The churches of St Gayane and St Hripsime are located in Echmiadzin, not far from the Echmiadzin monastery. These churches are dedicated to the three virgins who preached Christianity in the late 3rd century.
Alex and Marie Manoogian Treasury House Museum - Next, you will visit the Echmiadzin monastery. Here, you will see the world’s first monastery and explore the museum, which houses many valuable and significant pieces of art, including the Holy Lance (Geghard) that pierced Christ’s side and relics of Noah’s Ark.
Zvartnots Temple - Not far from Echmiadzin, you’ll find another masterpiece in ruins, yet its beauty and harmony with the surroundings remain intact. Zvartnots stands before you and Mount Ararat. After an unforgettable day, you’ll return to Yerevan.

After an emotional experience, continue to Garni.
Garni Temple - You’ve likely heard of the time when people worshipped various gods and goddesses, known as paganism. Before adopting Christianity, Armenians were pagans. The only remaining pagan temple from that era stands in the village of Garni, which you will visit today. The Temple of Garni dates back to the first century AD. Besides the temple, Garni offers several churches, stunning nature, and majestic mountains. Here, you’ll have a special opportunity to enjoy a Duduk concert organized just for you.
