Highlights
  • Dilijan - The tour will then take you to the North of Armenia, where you will be surrounded by beautiful nature. You will visit the “Armenian Switzerland” – the city of Dilijan.
  • Sharambeyan Street - Lined with traditional houses and artisan workshops, Sharambeyan Street takes you hundreds of years back in time. Situated within a national park, the area, popularly known as “Little Switzerland” for its forested hills and picturesque houses made of stone and wood, remains home to many Armenian visual artists, musicians, and filmmakers.
  • Haghartsin Monastery - After that, you will make a stop at the monastery of Haghartsin, dating back to the 10th-14th centuries. The name is translated as “the play of the eagle.” The scenery is somewhat similar to a stunning work of art, with both the monastery and the nature surrounding it providing a breathtaking view. It is one of those spots in Armenia that feels like a breathtaking, unreal movie set. The refectory of Haghartsin is considered the biggest amongst Armenian Church architecture; it was an absolute innovation of its time! If you are curious as to why, there will be nothing better than seeing it for yourself!
  • Ijevan Wine Brandy Factory - Ijevan Wine-Brandy Factory is one of the first wineries in Armenia. It was founded in 1951 in the city of Ijevan, Tavush region, in the valley of Aghstev and Spitak Jur Rivers. Ijevan is surrounded by mountains covered with deciduous forests, which are sometimes replaced by alpine meadows. Such a favorable geographical location and excellent climatic conditions make the products of the factory even more unique. The factory produces high-quality brandies, grape and fruit wines, sparkling wines, vodkas, juices, and a wide range of canned products.
  • Lake Sevan - Whilst staying in Armenia, you simply cannot miss the opportunity of visiting one of the country’s most renowned landmarks – the beautiful Lake Sevan. Merely an hour’s drive from the capital city of Yerevan, Sevan is situated at the height of 1900m above sea level and surrounded by a vast chain of mountains. The tour begins by climbing a flight of stairs to the Sevan peninsula – a pleasant morning workout that will compensate itself with an unforgettable panoramic view of the lake from the top. We will also visit the monastery of Sevanavank, built by the princess Mariam to honor the life of her deceased husband in the 9th century. Sevanavank is also home to one of the most beautiful Amenaprkich (all savior) Khachkars of Armenia. This is one of the 13 rarest cross-stones depicting Jesus.

It was interesting. - Thanks for the tour! Thanks to driver Marat and guide Anastasia! I loved it. I'd prefer an art museum to a local history museum. I would add time for Sevan: I want to go up to the monastery and bathe.

There's a nuance. - Generally easy, good and interesting tour, no questions about it. We shoot two stars for a terrible lunch at the Food Court Tsovagyuh (2nd et.), which we were offered to order in advance to choose from 4 positions. We chose pork and chicken barbecues with a roast potato side dish. We ended up with cold chicken, super-fat potatoes and a totally dried and tasteless pork barbecue that could only be chewed on. Other guests were not thrilled with other positions either. Didn't expect such a setup from Armenian cuisine for decent money. We suggest you take something with you or choose another place for lunch so you don't ruin your Trips experience.
