Within the reserve, a 6-kilometer trek leads to the enigmatic Vahagn waterfall nestled among the rocks and the enchanting Astghik waterfall. In ancient Armenian mythology, Astghik, the Goddess of beauty and fertility, was married to Vahagn, the God of fire and war.
The hike is moderately challenging. A professional guide will assist in overcoming any obstacles along the route.
It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes and comfortable sportswear. A hat and sunglasses are advisable. Ensure to bring 1 liter of water and food for the day.
After exploring the waterfalls, a UAZ vehicle will transport participants along breathtaking mountain paths to the Akhjots monastery complex (13th century). From this vantage point, there is a stunning view of the mountains.
