• The Monastery of Geghard - Geghard, also known as “Ayrivank” or “cave monastery,” features a main chapel constructed in 1215. The monastery complex itself was established in the 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator at the location of a sacred spring within a cave. Originally, it was named Ayrivank, which translates to “the Monastery of the Cave.”
• Garni Temple - A visit to the unique pagan temple of Garni is planned. This structure was erected by King Tiridates I in the first century AD as a dedication to the sun god Mihr. Following Armenia’s conversion to Christianity in the early fourth century, it was transformed into a royal summer residence for Khosrovidukht, the sister of Tiridates III.

The explorations in Garni and Geghard will include:

✅ Dominating the landscape is Geghard or “Ayrivank” (meaning ‘cave monastery’). Founded in the 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator, this complex was built around a sacred spring nestled inside a cave. The main chapel was added to the complex in 1215.

✅ Lastly, we will venture to the Charents Arch. This spot boasts a stunning panorama of Mount Ararat.
