• Lake Sevan - The high-altitude Lake Sevan is often called the “pearl of Armenia”. Situated 1,900 meters above sea level in the heart of the Armenian highlands, it is 63 km northeast of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, and is the largest lake in the Caucasus region. Surrounded by mountain ranges, Lake Sevan offers breathtaking views of an alpine lake. It is renowned for its pristine fresh water and the pure mountain air, which is beneficial for health.
• Monastery Sevanavank - The Sevanavank monastery complex is located on the Sevan peninsula. Founded in 305 by St. Gregory the Illuminator, it was built on the site of a former pagan temple. In the 9th century, the princes of Syunik established Sevan as a strategic point. In 874, Mariam, the wife of Prince Vassak of Syunik and daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni, constructed two churches here: St. Arakeloc and St. Astvatcatcin. These churches are notable for their intricate wood-carved capitals, some of which are preserved in the Armenia State Museum of History and the Art Gallery of St. Petersburg (Hermitage). A spiritual school was established in the complex in 1869. The remnants of a church with a domed hall can still be seen on the mountain top of the island. The cloister area is rich in khachkars (cross-stones).
• Noratus Cemetery - The journey continues along the shore to Noratus, a village known for having the largest collection of Armenian Khachkars—stone steles engraved with crosses, symbolizing the path to salvation. According to legend, Hayk, the ancestor of all Armenians, instructed his people to decorate every stone in Armenia, resulting in around 3000 decorated stones depicting various stories from different eras. Selim Pass, a mountain pass in Armenia, is situated at an altitude of 2,500 meters. From the pass, one can enjoy stunning views of a vast valley covered in green grass, intersected by babbling brooks and winding roads. A unique panorama unfolds from the top of the pass.
• Hayravank Monastery - The Hayravank monastery, an Armenian architectural monument from the 9th to 13th centuries, is located in the village of Hayravank on the coastal foreland of Lake Sevan. Although the monastery has reached us in a dilapidated state without its dome, the church and the porch have been preserved.
• Jermuk - In Jermuk, travelers can visit the mineral water gallery, Jermuk waterfall, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
• Jermuk Waterfall - Jermuk Waterfall, located in the health resort of Jermuk, is considered the most picturesque waterfall in Armenia. Situated at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level, the waterfall has a height of 70 meters, making it the second highest waterfall in Armenia.
• Areni - Areni is renowned for its wine production. Visitors to the Areni wine region can tour a winery and sample three types of Armenian wine.
