We start our journey with a visit to a ceramics workshop in Yeroskipou town, where we will observe craftsmen carrying on the time-honoured art, and if fortune favours you, you may even get to try the wheel. Next, we head to the town square to behold the distinct 5-domed church of Saint Paraskevi and get to discover the artistry behind the creation of ‘loukoumia’ (Turkish delights).
We then proceed to Letymbou town, where a tour of Sophia’s traditional home awaits us with its authentic furniture, decor, and cultural outfits. Here, you can see her baking village bread in the clay oven and creating other local treats like the classic halloumi cheese. After that, Sophia will serve a special Cypriot breakfast, including village bread and coffee or tea.
Lastly, we will visit the Saint Neophytos monastery, the ‘Enkleistra’, a structure that was hewn out of the mountain in the 12th century by hermit Neophytos, boasting some of the most impressive Byzantine murals.
