Borobudur Temple - Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist temple, is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist marvel in Central Java, Indonesia. Made from gray andesite-like stone, it boasts nine stacked platforms—six square and three circular—topped by a central dome. The temple is decorated with an impressive 2,672 relief panels and originally contained 504 Buddha statues. As you navigate its extensive stairways and corridors, you’ll find 1,460 narrative relief panels illustrating the Buddha’s teachings and life.
Merapi Volcano - (Optional) Visit Mount Merapi, the second most active volcano in the world. We’ll explore a local museum displaying remnants of the 2010 eruption, the largest since 1872. Additionally, we’ll see a giant rock from the eruption that resembles a human face, known as the ‘alien stone.’ There’s much more to discover as well.
Prambanan Temples - Visit Prambanan Temple, Indonesia’s tallest and most beautiful Hindu temple, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the area, you can also see Lumbung Temple, Bubrah Temple, and Sewu Temple.

Amazing first couple of days in Yogyakarta - We had the absolute pleasure of having Joko assisting us as our driver to Prambanan and Borobodur. He is the nicest, friendliest, most humble and most knowledgeable person to accompany us on the road, we had much fun, his English is great and made the experience of visiting Yogyakarta unforgettable.
