More than just a food tour - We came to the tour expecting regular food tour… like try few places and foods l and some general info. We got WAAAY more than that-beautiful combination of town history, food origins and cultural diversity! All of the information about the tour were delivered via WhatsApp quickly and in a very professional manner. Our guide Kalika was super nice and even even shared some local games which were a highlight for us. About the food I will not write because you should not be scared to be surprised 😄 they have the good stuff.

Great tour to get to know the real Yogya! - We were on a food tour with VertikalTours and we liked it a lot. We didn’t visit as many places as we are used to with other food tours, and the meals /snacks were a bit bigger for each round, but the different meals were diverse and nice to try. The guide was very friendly, easy to talk to, we could ask anything in an informal setting. We also had a very nice group, with a Spanish couple, which made the atmosphere very nice. We were driven around in Indonesian Tuk Tuks and that was a very easy and nice way to move around. All in all, I would say good value for money and definitely worthwhile to book while you are staying in Yogyakarta. Maybe a suggestion to also offer some local desserts (as there are many to choose from) for even more diversity.

A culinary odyssey - Brilliant tour! The food scene in Jogja can be somewhat... overwhelming. There's street food everywhere you look, and it's hard to know what to try. Kalika's knowledge about (and enthusiasm for) the cuisine takes care of that. In one evening we tried around 6 local specialties, all of which were delicious (it would have taken us days to do the necessary research to find these places ourselves, if we ever could). The tour is efficient, fun, and educational, and I highly recommended it.

Unforgettable Flavors: A Street Food Lover's Dream - Our evening tour with Kalika was an unforgettable experience filled with energy and insight. We explored the vibrant streets of Yogyakarta on foot and by becak - Kalika guided us to local spots where we savored a mix of sweet and savory Javanese dishes that we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Kalika created a fantastic group atmosphere, being super attentive and engaging with everyone. This tour is undoubtedly a must-do when visiting Jogja—highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the local culinary scene!

Great Food Tour with Excellent Guide Anisa - A fantastic Food Tour. Eating things and sitting in tents where we would never have gone otherwise. The food was all equally delicious and special. And on top of that we had a great Guide Anisa. Spoke excellent English and gave us information and explanations in a knowledgeable but above all cozy way. Thanks again Anisa. In short, just book 👍👍

Amazing tour guide! - Anisa our guide was so thoughtful and knowledgeable. She made sure we were all cared for and looked after. Her history lessons were wonderful. We really recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. The most memorable part of the night was the herbal medicine shop and the blind fold test in the big park at the end of the evening. All the food was amazing with so many things you would never think of trying on your own. Anisa made everyone feel comfortable. A great way to start our visit.

Amazing - This was one of the best experiences in Yogyakarta. Kalika is a fantastic tour guide, showed us around her city with lots of passion and taught us about Indonesian dishes that without her guide would have been impossible to discover. The city is quite vibrant at night and with the tour you’re able to go to local places. A highlight is the jamu preparation. Thanks a lot!

Fascinating fun foodie experience! Do not miss! - Anisa was a wonderful host and so friendly! We had the best time trying different foods with another couple. We had 7 different food stops with some walking in between to help digest the food and some taking Becak's that she arranged throughout the tour. She explained everything about the food and informed us of Indonesia history too. We tried everything from meat on sticks, traditional dishes, teas. herbal medicines. It was all so interesting and we learned so much. Anisa went above and beyond and even helped us organise our day of sightseeing the next day! It's an amazing experience and we highly recommend! Thank you Anisa!
