Deep and unique take on Korean history, war & international relations - Our guided tour with Kihyun was delightful! Incredibly interesting, well-thought-out, balanced and nuanced from beginning to the end. Our tour started in front of the Statue of Brothers with an emotional real story about the two brothers that ended placed in different armies when the Korean war broke out and from there we entered the memorial where Kihyun guided us with mastery for over two hours walking us through the context of the Japanese colonization of Korean, the before and after the WWII, the ongoing conflicts and small battles in between 1945 and 1950, how the political sides looked at the time and then the "surprise" attack & invasion of North Korea that was not a surprise at all and so many more well-balanced points of views that we wouldn't never had reading only what the facts that the memorial was presenting. If you love history, WWII and a nuanced and unique take of Korea and Asia international relations, the why's and how's of the current state of the map, you won't find a better tour than this one with Kihyun in Seoul. I can't recommend it strongly enough.
