Lovely day in the dales - I had a lovely day in the dales with our wonderful driver and guide John S. He had lots of interesting stories and facts from the history of the region. He was also a careful driver, I felt very safe. I wish we had some more time at the Bolton castle, but other than that we had sufficient time at all the other stops. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you for a great day, John!

Dales Tour 1st August 2024 Barry - We had a splendid day. It matched and exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide was fun, incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel like we'd known him a long time. The dales were stunning, especially the remote parts. Although it was a long day, we never felt rushed & it was at times relaxing. The only improvements we can suggest are 1. define pick up point location (Minster) more clearly. 2. Aysgarth Falls Road crossing a tad dodgy. Would you please convey to Barry a big thank you for making our day out so enjoyable (Ha-Ha!!)

Jovial John goes above and beyond - John’s genuine interest in Yorkshire was infectious and obvious from the onset. He narrated the surrounding beautiful landscapes, architectures and an impressive array of history all whilst smoothly navigating tricky to drive roads without missing a beat. We were continually kept informed of schedule and stops throughout, in between the many facts, anecdotes and laughter which made the full day fly by.

This tour was well done; comfortable, informative and engaging! I would highly recommend this tour. - Barry was great, super insightful and was always engaged. He told us what the tour was going to include and made sure everything was properly checked off the list. He included numerous fun facts that stretched from 250 AD to present day! Barry was informative, funny and always sharing with the group information that tied back to the trip and that local area we were visiting. His personality and charm was a big portion of why my teenage daughter and so enjoyed the trip so much. I especially liked the fact he summarized the day when we were almost back; nice touch! Well done Mountain Goat York! Having ambassadors such as Barry will certainly have guests revisit your tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing learn of the Yorkshire’s rich history in a comfortable, informative and engaging experience!

Perfect Way to See The Dales - So, so worthwhile! As expected, the scenery of The Dales was quaint, charming and idyllic, made even more so by our knowledgeable, entertaining and enthusiastic guide, John. John was simply fantastic, narrating about York area and english history, agrarian practices, national efforts to preserve and protect the Dales, and many other subjects. It was a perfect outing! Among the delightful surprises were a visit to the Wesleydale Creamery for cheese sampling (a must for “Wallace and Grommet” fans).

Beautiful & Scenic - The tour lasted from 9 - 6 and was fun throughout. The best part was the commentary throughout the journey that added a historic storyline to all the places we visited. We covered Abbeys, waterfalls, scenic villages, beautiful meadows and hilltops, castles & a cheese factory ! An absolutely splendid experience!

Omg best tour ever - This guided tour takes you to some of the most remote areas and sights Yorkshire has to offer. From rolling hills to picturesque countryside towns, everything can be seen, and there are plenty of opportunities for taking pictures, with several stops being made solely for this purpose. Today, as the weather was nice, we were even privy to a surprise show that was included in the price of the tour. Our guide John was very nice and knowledgeable. He made the trip very enjoyable with jokes, fun facts, songs and laughter. Otherwise everything was as advertised. We were picked up and dropped off as expected and on time. Would recommend, just make sure to bring a bottle of water.
