Great experience - Dom and Paul were great hosts, made the whole visit really interesting. My wife isn’t a gin drinker but they won her over with a great range of Gin samples and mixers. Good value and great entertainment, good luck for the future in your new premises guys, the new bar is amazing.

10/10 - We had an amazing time at the Hooting Owl distillery yesterday! Mark gave us a tour of the distillery, explained about the process of the making of their spirits (gin, vodka and rum) and then took us upstairs for the guided tasting. This part of the tour was particularly fun and full of very interesting facts and fun anecdotes about the story, politics and other aspects of the business. At the end of the tour we were able to sit down in the beautiful lounge area to finish our complimentary drinks and we even purchased a bottle of the Hooting Owl Mocha flavoured rum. Absolutely recommend to try it out! Thank you to all the staff that made this experience amazing and memorable! A great way to celebrate your birthday!

Excellent tasting tour! - Excellent tasting tour in a lovely setting. A generous range of great gin samples (plus a delightful spiced rum) accompanied by informative stories from great host Mark about the histories of gin and Hooting Owl. Highly recommended!

The best gin tour - Had the most amazing gin tour by the team. Was able to try well at least 5 different gins and rums and had two double gins and tonics and learnt so much about the history of the hooting owl gin and the process. We were able to take our dogs and they looked after them whilst we looked around the actual distillery for around ten minutes and they could be with us for the rest of the tour! The best day!

What a Hoot! - We went in pursuit of my favourite gin having discovered it a few years ago at a small Christnas Market in the grounds of The Judges' Lodgings in York. I was hooked! West Yorkshire gin is my favourite. It has Cardamon, Cumin and Tumeric in it with a nod to Bradford culture. It's like curry in a glass! My husband booked the tour for our wedding Aniversary. We were greeted by Mark our host and tour guide and he was so welcoming and friendly. There were 11 people on the tour, a small stag doo of 5 and three couples. The venue is fabulous and stylish with a quirky twist. It's brilliant. The tour started with a Signature gin and tonic to sip on whilst Mark explained the history of how the owner Dominic, had founded the gin and how to make gin in the distillery which is in the bar. It was very interesting and fascinating and good fun too. We then adjourned to the tasting session! We tried the North, East, South and West gins comparing first the difference against Gordons gin. I like Gordons but you can tell the difference in the burst of flavours and spices in a HOD! We then tasted the Rhubarb and Vanilla which was delicious and a rum. We could then pick our favourite to have with a mixer. It was really good fun and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend it. Mark was an excellent host, very interesting and funny too. Great asset to HOD. We stayed in the bar after the tour to sample a few more ha ha... Veteran's gin is nice 👌, Parma violet, very nice and delicate taste. The drinks were all served with edible flowers which was a nice touch. The attention to detail in the decor of the bar is impressive too. Pictures on the wall excellent. They serve a good range of cocktails too which I didn't get round to sampling! I'll have to return! Go Book!!!!

Gin at its finest! - The gin gospel according to Mark; aka an excellent gin tour and tasting experience. A throughly engrossing tour with a great selection of gins. I could not recommend this more! A must if you love gin and are in York!

Amazing - Such a fascinating experience! Beautiful setting and great atmosphere. The passion for this business is amazing . We will be back
