A wonderful experience to learn about York - A fun and interactive way to discover York. We were entertained by the queer clues and had hints to help us along the way. We got to see York and its many wonders. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Excellent experience - Really enjoyable. My wife and I wanted something different to the usual 'date night' and I found this online. So glad we did. I highly recommend. No local knowledge is required. Indeed, the 'mission' took mee to parts of York I'd never seen. One of the best couple of hours I can reccomend in York.

Excellent afternoon of clues and fun - We did the secret city murder mystery in York at the weekend we chose to use what's app for the clues and as I work in this industry I wanted to see how well it all worked. I can safely say it was seemless and alot of fun the clues came quickly and gave great cryptic clues make sure you read the questions tho a few times I read them a Completyly different way to my husband lol which meant some back tracking but we had a great time exploring the back streets and outer edges of York it took us just over 2 hours to complete at a leasuirly pace and we stopped for lunch and some drinks at one of the allotted break times all in all highly recomend I'd definatly like to do more of these tours

Not bad, but overall - a bit of a let down - Sadly, having done similar outdoor city escape rooms before, this one was a bit of a let down. The "plot" (trying to avoid the flooding of the city of York by the Kraken) was a little convoluted and introduced part way through the process. It therefore didn't have much impact. There were some texts that explained locations and their history but these needed to be formatted differently to the clue/instruction type texts. A couple of clues were really annoying. One coukld have been better worded so as to avoid going down a wrong path only to find an totally plausible (but totally wrong answer). Also, following "white walls" lead to a waste of an hour as the wall we needed were actually cream and again lead to areas that totally met the clue criteria. More care needed to here to ensure customers don't replace fun with utter frustration. Lastly, the ending of the game just stopped at a certain venue. We had addrived. That was it. Wah? Eh? Bit of a let down. Where this game was good, it was enjoyable. But a little more fine tuning is needed.

Very hard - didn’t complete it - We had a good laugh but found it very difficult and after the hints there’s no more help. By accident we realised if you keep putting in guesses eventually you’ll move to the next clue but when you’re lost it made it so hard to follow. Good idea but not with teens.
