York Ghost Walk - Very entertaining and an opportunity to see some hidden parts of York and to listen to some well delivered ghostly tales

The Ghost Walk to book! - This was an absolutely brilliant experience! Dan obviously has a talent for story telling, bringing a variety of interesting stories to life with great expression and some humour, at all times audible and entertaining.

A must to do in York. - Great value for money. Included lots of information on the history of York as well as all the ghostly inhabitants. Mackenzie was a great story teller and really engaging. Her knowledge of the city was brilliant. A lovely evening and a must to do in York.

Good spooky walk - We liked the mixture of history & spooky stories and wandering parts of the city we wouldn't have visited otherwise. Josh was happy to answer all questions on the tour & he was a good story teller. The long pauses were tedious, not suspenseful.

Walking with the Dead - As the last light of day bled from the sky, we stepped into the narrow lanes of York for the Shadows of York Ghost Walk - ninety minutes in the company of the hauntingly fabulous Dan, a storyteller who doesn’t just recite ghost tales, but summons them from the stones beneath your feet. His voice carried through the dimly lit streets like a spell, weaving together history, tragedy, and whispers from the other side. Through crooked alleyways and forgotten courtyards, we followed him into places where the air seemed colder, the shadows deeper. Every tale was rich with detail, yet delivered with just the right amount of theatrical bite - enough to make you glance over your shoulder when footsteps echoed a little too close behind. Dan’s pacing was flawless, drawing us in with quiet menace before striking with a chilling twist. The walk was immersive, atmospheric, and steeped in York’s darker past. Even without flickering lanterns or staged effects, the city itself became the set - every timbered wall and cobbled path alive with imagined eyes watching from the other side. We loved the smaller group size. Shadows of York is a masterclass in ghost storytelling - an unmissable experience for anyone who wants to meet the city’s ghosts in a fun way! Go on, book it!

Ghost tour with Dan - We had a great experience with the Shadows of York Ghost Tour! Dan was the man! He was a brilliant tour guide, with great knowledge and the passion for the stories he tells was very evident! Knowledge and humour rolled into one enjoyable walk and talk. Would highly recommend!

Not for the weak stomach. - I enjoyed the since humor that ended most of the stories and the presentation. Also getting a little history worked in was nice. The tour guide (Jerome ? Sorry I’m horrible with names ) was great. Being fair to my wife’s sensibilities, she found a few of the stories to be too gruesome and would have dropped a star.

Fan of Dan! - Our tourguide Dan was great! A very charismatic storyteller with a great voice. The stories were memorable and of varying topics, and took us to places and streets we normally wouldn't have seen. Definitely recommend!

Fun and informative Ghost tour of parts of York we didn’t know existed - Great informative tour with Mcenzie.Full of enthusiasm and stories about the history of beautiful York…..a real credit to Shadows of York.The children loved it as did I. Highly recommended

Street theatre! - Great experience! Loved the theatrics of our guide (bolo hat guy) and he really did project well for all to hear!
