Very informative, custom guided experience of York by native tourguide - I’m from the US and visited York for the first time in July with my family. My brother found dave through the Guy Fawkes Inn. I can say with confidence that Dave is one of the most knowledgeable people about York’s history. The depth and breadth of information he shares makes it clear that sharing about York and the Yorkminster is more than a job, but a love for his hometown. Dave is kind and adaptable to what he covers with you based on your interests during the tour. I recommend him to illuminate your stay in York!

A great time! - Dave has a wealth of knowledge on the city and its history. He tells interesting stories you'd never hear from anyone else. The city came alive as we walked the streets together. He is friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our time with him.

Dave Haw Tours, York - We were not officially part of a tour group but got talking to Dave as he escorted an American group around York. He was taking them to the Blue Boar next (where Dick Turpin's body was taken after his execution) & invited us to come along ! Dave was very friendly & knowledgeable, all delivered with a broad Yorkshire accent ! We would happily do a full tour with him on a future visit to the city.

Unmatched knowledge - We can't begin to explain how good this tour was. Dave's knowledge of The Minster and York in general is unmatched. There wasn't a single question that my wife or I asked that Dave didn't have an answer for (including York City questions). He spent more time with us then he was supposed to, but you can tell this tour is his passion. It is not a job for him. I would suggest anyone considering a tour of The Minster or York, to schedule through Dave. You will not regret it.

Could not recommend more highly. - We accidentally gate crashed Dave's guided tour of York Minster. Best thing we could have done. He had such detailed knowledge of the history of the Minster with stories that made the tour so much fun. We regretted we had to leave early as we really enjoyed it.

Dave is a Knowledgeable tour guide, who clearly loves what he does. - We were incredibly lucky to be the only two people booked on the walking tour with Dave. From the very first moment he engaged us with his knowledge of York, sprinkled with a little bit of humour. We learnt a lot about York and saw things that without the tour we would simply have missed. Nothing was too much for Dave, and as we were the only two he took a couple of detours to match the tour to our interests introducing us to locals as our paths crossed. The tour was so enlightening that we decided to change our plans for the next couple of days, and followed an itinerary that Dave recommended to us instead. If you do only one thing when visiting York, make it a tour with Dave, I am sure you won't regret it. Thank you Dave
