Down the ouse with ease - What a great alternative look around york ,both sides of the river ouse . Great welcome ,attentive staff ,refreshments on board and a 45 min journey that gives you an abundance of historical information around york . Andy ,our able captain was a fantastic host and our tour guide speaker with not only historical facts but a great stand up comedian too ,loved his banter . Very highly recommended this to all and will definitely " float your boat "

Relaxing Cruise - Excellent way to finish off a full day of shopping and enjoying the atmosphere of York. Easy to access the boats and the crew were very helpful. Andy was our captain, but he goes by the alias of Dave too! Andy was very informative and pointed out many interesting facts about York. I would recommend the cruises to anyone who wants a different perspective on seeing York.

A different perspective on York - Nice way to get a different view point of York. Daytime cruise lasts 45 minutes. We enjoyed the experience, very relaxing with a friendly crew looking after us. Joss the captain was really good, very knowledgeable and informative with a touch of humour...he has a voice that wouldn't be out of place on a late night radio show! (I mean that in a good way!) I would recommend this attraction!

Okay - The cruise was fine just a member of public who was interrupting the trip as he kept trying to talk to the driver as they was doing the tour guide

Great experience, poor information - The boat trip was excellent, the crew on the ground were helpful and friendly, Sophia’s commentary was just right. Our only negative comment is that we didn’t get any information about how to get to Kings Staith and where best to park. As a result of this lack of information we had to change from our booked trip at 12pm to the 1.30pm. Luckily our plans allowed us to do this and City Cruises could accommodate us, otherwise we would have lost our money

Quick, nicely run river tour. - Quick river tour if you have limited time. Nice commentary, and hot and cold beverages are available.

Pointless - There is no point on going on this cruise. There is very little of York's history to see from the river and the commentary is utterly dreadful, delivered in a matching tone of voice. I expected an educational and informed commentary in a sensible adult voice. Without it, the trip is pointless.

Spoiled by Captain Pugwash - This short river cruise could have been so relaxing picturesque and a memorable event. However this was all ruined by the member of staff called Andy who starred the boat, he shouted continuously through the microphone and left us and other customers with ringing in our ears by the end, he told us lots of information about York and it's history but he always had the sound system at full volume. At one point I asked a member of the crew what time he would finish shouting so I wouldn't have him ruining my video to which he replied, oh that's just him, he'll still be shouting tonight. This member of staff had 4 stripes on his epaulettes so I'm assuming he was a rear admiral. Very poor wouldn't mind our money back !!!!!

Don't waste your money - Went on a cold but dry day and waited for the 2.15pm boat. It arrived on time but they kept us waiting outside in freezing temperatures for 15 minutes. They then let us on the boat and waited half an hour before moving off. We chose this boat because it said the inside cabin was heated, unfortunately it wasn't. The trip itself lasted 45 minutes and to be honest there was very little to see. Can not recommend this trip and would advise you not to waste your money.
