Unnamed Road - Treasure Hunt York will take you on a beautiful route, and send you to fabulous places, all at your own pace. Because it’s all on your phones, it’s super flexible and there’s nothing to print.
You’ll have a laugh solving the clues and following the maps. Something in a shop window catch your eye? No problem. Take it at your own pace. Even turn it into a pub crawl! Along the way you’ll learn interesting facts and stories keeping you entertained.
By the end of it all, you’ll have a great overview of York and what you’d like to explore next.
It’s works like WhatsApp, so it’s easy to use. You don’t need to download or print anything and it doesn’t need any permissions. Plus, you get to start when you want.
Play together Captain Bess will invite you and your friends to join the hunt. Follow maps Bess sends you a series of treasure maps to your phones, leading you around the city. Search for answers Bess sends you a series of clues and you have to search the city for answers. Don’t worry if you can’t find the answer right away, you can always ask for hints. Along the way, she’ll tell you interesting facts and stories about the things you’re spotting.

Great day out - Amazing day in York learning lots of things about York! The clues were just hard enough but not too hard to be disheartening. Would deffo recommend for a day out with the kids.

Brilliant 3 hours - Brilliant way to see the bits of York you wouldn't normally see. Makes you see stuff that's hidden too. Well thought out and can't wait to do the next one

Great family fun - A fantastic day for the whole family - everyone got involved. Lots of fun finding things that we wouldn’t have spotted had it not been for the hunt. We were taken down lots of little streets, making it a great way to see more of this beautiful city. Highly recommended.

Great afternoon - A good mix of puzzles some more trying than others! We both enjoyed it and there are plenty of pubs to stop at en route. The game isn’t timed and you can fall in and out of it as you please

See the unseen York - Local to York and have been many times, however, the tour took us to places that I have never noticed but will go back to again. Varied route, a good mixture of tricky to easier to solve clues, a few kept us (and others we saw) guessing.
Gets the brain working while experiencing this magnificent city.
Took us a little longer than advertised as we wanted to take in the surroundings and stop for refreshments.
Great way to see the city.

Great way for all the family to explore York - This is a fun and great way of exploring York city centre, while finding out historical facts. Great for all the family, we did it with our teenage daughter, who enjoyed reading out the clues. You can do a coffee/pub stop as often as you like and still get your 10,000 steps in. It takes you down alleyways and routes, that you wouldn’t have otherwise explored. Rain or shine we would definitely recommend this treasure hunts.

Loads of fun - Amazing from start to finish. The clues weren't too easy, we got really stumped with a couple and the hints helped massively. A great way to see the city and it's hidden gems. Would highly recommend it!!

Absolutely brilliant! - We had the best time figuring out the clues and seeing so many hidden sights in beautiful York! The facts along the way were so interesting, and the hunt was perfectly paced. Can’t wait to try another one!

Start early - The Treasure Hunt was good fun but we should have started earlier. Tip to others would be to make sure you have plenty of time as clues are quite tricky!

Fun experience - This was really fun! My friends and I live in York but it was fun to see the hidden gems we hadn’t really seen before. Be warned that asking for hints takes away from your final score though.
