The painful past to show to prevent the future from being painful again - Words are difficult to put into such a place of cruelty and suffering. We must remember that all the victims gave us this freedom that so many would like to take away from us.

Best Day of My Trip - Roger really is the best guide if you're looking for a WW1 tour around Belgium. I wanted to visit the Ypres Salient for a day and I had such a great experience during the tour with Roger. It was my favourite day of my trip through Europe. Highly recommend!

Excellent Historical Tour - I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Roger is an extremely knowledgeable guide, having written two books on the subject. He provided expert interpretation of the Battle and its background and readily answered all our questions. He approached the subject in a manner that was appropriately respectful of all who participated in the battles, regardless of who they fought for. The stops along the tour really helped illustrate the horror, scale, and impact of the battles, as much as reasonably possible. I never felt rushed along through any of the sites and appreciated that Roger accommodated my specific interests in determining the overall itinerary. The full-day tour also included a lovely lunch, and it was clear that Roger also enjoys the esteem of his fellow colleagues, who stopped by for a brief yet welcome chat. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning about Passchendaele.

Great experience! - Such a great tour, so happy I included in my trip to Belguim! Rodger was a wonderful tour guide and was very helpful/kind as I dealt with a late arrival due to missing my train (I was traveling from Brussels). I’m happy that the tour stopped at the Passchendale musuem, it was a very informative musuem and you can buy Rodgers book in the shop! The lunch that was included was great, was not expecting such great quality. The only thing I wish I would have planned differently is to spend more time in Ypres. I would recommend visiting for more than 1 day so you can join this tour and have time to explore the rest of the town - specifically the Flanders musuem. I’ll also mention I was a solo traveler and had a great day/would highly recommend this tour and visit Ypres!

Must do tour with an amazing expert guide - Amazing and unforgettable experience with Roger! He was extremely knowledgeable and an absolute expert, he had so much to talk about at every site. Every question that crossed our mind Roger was more than happy to give a detailed and easy to understand answer. Lunch was the best we had in Ypres, and getting to sit down and eat it together with Roger was definitely one of the highlights of the tour. Roger was more than happy to tailor the tour to what we wanted and on top of picking us up and dropping us off at our hotel, was even kind enough to then drop us off at the train station!

Worth every penny and more! - Worth every penny for Roger’s knowledge of World War One and the area. We watched a repatriation at Tyne Cott Cemetery, a really moving experience, only possible because of Roger’s connections with The War Graves Commision. Would highly recommend booking a tour.
