Highlights
  • 54490 Skyline Ranch Rd - Stargazing Joshua Tree is delighted to welcome you, your family, and friends for an enchanting evening of stargazing and astronomy under the internationally certified dark skies of Joshua Tree.

Beginning with a brief walk through a scale model of our solar system, our guides will introduce you to our neighboring planets as astronomical twilight begins. Each guest can relax in their own zero gravity pod. These pods conform to your body, eliminating pressure points to make it comfortable and easy to view the star-filled sky. Each guest also receives a pair of Celestron Outland X Binoculars to enhance their sky-viewing experience from their pod.

Our astronomy guides will present a 2-hour program featuring state-of-the-art telescopes and laser pointers to navigate the constellations and objects of the night sky. Guests will also enjoy an up-close view of celestial objects (galaxies, nebulae, clusters) through our powerful telescopes.

Hot beverages such as hot chocolate, coffee, and tea are provided.

Please provide an email address in the message center.

Additional Information

Our team of seasoned and informed guides will lead you on an exploration of the heavens. Discover how to identify north and the positions of our changing geometric star patterns, constellations, and planets. With the help of powerful laser pointers, we will weave for you a fascinating and educational narrative, filled with tales of ancient societies, Greek legends, and the evolving Universe.

Our telescopes are controlled via a simple keypad, as straightforward to navigate as composing a text message. They come pre-set with a list of celestial objects we aim to observe each night. A single push of a button will allow the telescope to move to the upcoming item.

We routinely observe a variety of celestial objects such as: Galaxies, Nebulae, Star Clusters, Twin and Dual Stars, Planets, Our Moon, Dense Star Clusters, Comets, and beyond. Depending on the timeframe, sightings of the International Space Station (ISS) and passing Starlink satellites may also be possible.

Pleasant activity, the sky and the stars are beautiful! - This release is original, unexpected and very interesting. The place is well done, the explanations rather clear and we easily immerse ourselves in the universe. The cushions are nice, and the 2 hours pass very quickly. Telescopes are super efficient. We leave with souvenir photos, which is also great. We spent 2 hours with our heads in the stars, which are super visible, it changes us from Paris!!!! We are just a little bit disappointed because it's finally a little expensive, we expected because of the Award a little "more" (especially on cushions that were described as remove the aearner, we expected something technologically advanced), and also, even if we speak good English, we did not understand everything; finally, the sky is really beautiful, but a little light pollution comes to remind that we are not far from the city, too bad that the city does not pay attention to this, the place deserves to be even further and more isolated? So maybe an Award to review?

Amazing experience! - We just finished professional star gazing. This was such a unique amazing experience. Most of us live in places where we have so much light pollution, we cannot see the night sky like this. Caleb our guide is clearly passionate about astronomy and it shows. He was so informative while being funny and friendly. I don’t think he could be any better! Moe was helping with the telescopes and took fabulous pictures so we have a souvenir of this wonderful night. Moe also was very friendly and happy to take multiple pictures. I highly recommend this !

Great Hosts !! - Telescopes pictures were amazing. Fire haze and some light pollution did inhibit viewing. Not sure if this is Yucca valley or Joshua tree. Loud music played from the Pioneertown. That cant be helped! Great hosts!

Absolutely NOT worth the money! - I’ve been star gazing before with Observers Inn in Julian, CA, so this was an absolute let down. I paid $1200 for 6 close friends to have a great experience together and it turns out we had a recent graduate who just completed training. There were 2 small children running around, making it hard to hear and knocking into the tripods/telescopes (while also coughing and sneezing and rubbing their germs on everything). Because I have done one before I can truly say this is NOT worth the money at all. Wait until Observers Inn is up and running in Arizona and get a real Astronomer AND real telescopes (observatory quality). When you charge $200 a person, it better be spectacular. Don’t test your new trainees on us!
