- Approximately a 3-hour drive to the Drakensberg with a refreshment stop
- Arrival at the destination
- Gear allocation, bag packing, and hike briefing

- Arrival at the cave by mid-afternoon

- Dig a deep hole far from the cave, paths, or water sources for toilet use
- No fires; cooking is done on gas
- No littering
- Stick to designated paths
- Do not pick flowers or any flora
- Maintain a respectful distance from any animals
- Keep noise to a minimum; enjoy nature’s sounds
- No soap use in rivers (even biodegradable); it’s only 2 days
- Do not touch rock art in any way

Experience a night in a cave amidst the untamed nature of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg in KwaZulu Natal. Embark on an overnight walk across the untouched landscapes of the ‘little berg’, open to anyone with basic fitness. Responsibilities include carrying your own equipment and participating in camping activities like cooking and tidying up. The walk approximately covers 12km each day, with a firm policy of carrying in and carrying out all we bring. Our approach is minimal impact, leaving the environment as we found it. This trek promotes a close encounter with the wild and the camaraderie with fellow hikers over any formal tour-like experience.
