A Step Back in Time: The Enchanting Zaanse Schans

As a family that thrives on exploring the rich tapestry of European history, the Zaanse Schans Tour was a perfect fit for us. The children were particularly fascinated by the old harbor house of Sytje Boes and the ‘Church Neighbourhood’ (Kerkbuurt), where they could step right into the past.

The tour concluded with a visit to the Irene Hoeve Clogs and Cheese Shop, where we witnessed demonstrations of both cheese and wooden shoe making. It was a fitting end to a day filled with learning and laughter, leaving us with a deeper appreciation for the Netherlands’ cultural legacy.
