• Statue of Petrica Kerempuh - After visiting Dolac market, we’ll also see the statue of Petrica Kerempuh, a literary character created by Miroslav Krleža, erected in 1955.
• Tkalciceva Street - Stroll through Zagreb’s most vibrant street, lined with traditional shops, small boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. While wandering along Tkalča Street, you’ll find a man in a corner holding a steering wheel. Can you guess what he invented?
• Statue of Marija Juric Zagorka - As we walk through Tkalčićeva Street, we’ll pass by the statue of Croatia’s most widely read writer, journalist, and feminist.
• Porta di Pietra (Kamenita Vrata) - Pass by Zagreb’s most significant cultural and religious site, and learn about the legend that made the stone gate famous. On the way to the Upper Town, you’ll encounter Einstein’s predecessor, known as the ‘universal mind,’ and the statue of St. George after his battle with the dragon.
• Strossmayer Promenade - Visit the promenade offering one of the best panoramic views in Zagreb, known as Zagreb Stross. This romantic spot is where lovers leave their padlocks and enjoy sunsets while sitting on benches, taking in the view. A notable attraction on Stross is the Antun Gustav Matoš statue, with which you can share the view.
• Funicular Railway - Take a ride on one of the world’s shortest funiculars, which will transport you down to Zagreb’s main shopping street – Ilica.
• Square of Petar Preradovic - Visit Zagreb’s beloved square and meeting point, also known as Flower Square. The square’s name comes from the flower stalls that have been a feature since the 14th century. Here, you’ll meet the scientist and inventor who made electricity accessible to everyone and learn all about Petar Preradović, the Croatian general.
• Gajeva ulica - Somewhere around Gajeva Street, you’ll encounter the brilliant mathematician and physicist who was once mocked as a freak.
• Petrinjska ulica - Near the beautiful Zrinjevac park, one of Croatia’s most famous inventors awaits you, without whose invention we couldn’t function today.
• Ban Josip Jelacic Square - Visit Zagreb’s main square and meeting point, the hub of all social and political events. See the renowned statue of Ban Josip Jelacic and meet one of the greatest European basketball players of all time.
