- Krsko - We’ll pass through Krško, a city crucial for energy in both Croatia and Slovenia, thanks to the Krško nuclear power plant. This joint venture from the Yugoslav era supplies over a quarter of Slovenia’s and 15% of Croatia’s power.
- Novo Mesto - Along the drive, we’ll see many charming villages and towns, including Novo Mesto, a picturesque river town with rich archaeological heritage.
- Dragon Bridge (Zmajski Most) - Our walking tour of Ljubljana begins here, exploring the city’s rich and complex history. - Cathedral of St. Nicholas (Stolnica Sv. Nikolaja) - Next, we’ll visit the stunning Ljubljana Cathedral, officially Saint Nicholas Church. Built in the early 18th century and later rebuilt, it evolved from a Gothic church to a Baroque masterpiece. Discover the mythic Slovenian doors that narrate the history of Slovenia. Entry to the Cathedral costs 2 euros.
- Triple Bridge (Tromostovje) - Jože Plečnik, Slovenia’s most famous architect, shaped Ljubljana’s identity with his urban designs between the World Wars. Learn about his inspirations as we visit the Triple Bridge, a trio of public bridges he designed.
- Prešernov trg - Our walking tour concludes at Prešeren Square, the central square in the old town and the heart of the city. - Logatec - On our drive, we’ll pass this quaint town, once eight separate villages.
- Postojna - A town known for its museums, galleries, and festivals, including medieval tournaments.
- Predjama Castle - Visit a remarkable Renaissance castle set in the mouth of a cave. Predjama Castle, once home to the knight Erasmus of Lueg, is also a pop culture icon, featured in a Jackie Chan movie and the Netflix show The Witcher. An audio guide will accompany your tour.
- Postojna Cave - Our tour concludes with a guided visit to Postojna Cave Park, Slovenia’s second-longest cave system. Discovered in the 17th century, the cave became a tourist destination after Archduke Ferdinand’s visit in 1819. Learn about its history, including its use as an ammunition storage during wartime, as you explore the cave system.
