Great Experience - Easy going and reliable guides. - This was really a great experience. We booked the tour the evening before, and the communication via whatsapp was smooth and we immediately found Abdi at the agreed meeting point. The tour guide himself (Massoud) was also great. He was knowledgable and an original local from stonetown. He took us to all the important sights and also explained the historical context, very nice! Over all this was great value for the price, and a generally interesting tour.

Highly recommended! Friendly, knowledgeable guides, very good experience - We arranged a tour of Stone town one day before and everything went smoothly. Our guide was fluent in English, answered all of our questions, and this was generally a very good, tailored experience. The price was good and clearly communicated from the beginning. We had no surprise stops to be sold souvenirs or other things, to the contrary. The highlight was a stop at a very successful local restaurant where the food was delicious and service was quick. Highly reccomend these guys!

Really good - I heard about Splash Tours in a FB group where they got a few recommendations. I know why - we went on a trip to Prison Island and Nakupenda + Stone Town. For the trips to the island we were accompanied by Abdi's younger brother who was very kind and provided us with interesting info, When we got back we took a strole around Stone Town with Abdi, who you can tell knows what he's doing and was great at showing us around the city. We loved it! Great job guys and best to you!

100% recommend! Friendly, helpful and great - I was a solo traveller and I went on their tour to prison island, Nakupenda island and then I did a walking tour. I was in contact with Abdi before I arrived and he was so helpful and lovely. When I arrived he picked me up from my hotel and we walked to the beach to meet the boat. Then I met with Hassan who was my guide for the day, I was the only one with Hassan but they found me other people to share the boat with to help save some money. Hassan had good English, a lot of great info and answered all of my questions on the prison island tour and the walking tour. The food was delicious we had fresh fruit, soda and water and lovely fries with fresh fish and seafood on the island! Hassan had great information to share on the walking tour and they even went above and beyond to help me find the bank to pay for my COVID test. Later on in the evening Abdi was kind enough to once again pick me up from my hotel and take me to the local food market (which was delicious) and take time out of his night to ensure that I had a memorable time. I would 100% recommend Splash as they are very kind, helpful and knowledgeable.

Splash tours were fantastic, would never use anyone else - For starters, I just happened to walk past Splash tours office as it was just near my hotel and I thought I’d take a quick look. What impressed me the most, was Abdi wasn’t trying to do a big sales push like everyone else in stone town. He was down to earth, honest and didn’t put pressure on me to book with him. Later that day I booked a stone town walking tour and Abdi was exceptionally knowledgeable, thoughtful, easy going and was happy to answer all of my questions that weren’t even related to to the tour. After the tour, I booked and paid for the prison island tour to do the next day but fell sick and Splash tours were happy to move me to the next day. I was then still unwell to go the next day so they offered me a refund which I declined but asked if instead Abdi can walk with me and carry my bags to the ferry terminal and help bypass all the pushy porters which he generously accepted. Even after walking me to terminal, he offered to refund my money but no way was I taking it, Abdi was worth every cent. If I wasn’t unwell, I would have used splash tours for even more activities but even so, Abdi was fantastic and it was great to know I had someone who would be honest and assist me with anything I required in stone town especially when unwell. Thanks Abdi :)

Tour itself: good // guesthandling needs to improved - I have to reduce the star-rating, because the promised pick up was well communicated (in german language), but then simply forgotten. After a phonecall, made by the helpfull hotelreception, I was picked up with 40 min. delay by the owner of the company himself ... and later I was "handovered" to the tourguide, there was 1 participant only = me. The Guide was friendly, spoke german very well and the explainings were ok. Generally this walkingtour helps very much to have an overview in the crowded city with many narrow streets. So I recommend it to do this at the first day after arrival here. Maybe other groups need more time to visit churches or spend time inside the Freddy Mercury Museum (entrance fees are not included), but in my case tour was finished after 90 Min. with a quick distanced Farewell. So my Overall-Rating is: Average
