Unforgettable Safari Experience at Selous Game Reserve – Fun for the Whole Family - Our safari at Selous Game Reserve was an absolutely impressive experience, which we rated 5 stars! From the very beginning we were accompanied by our exceptional guide who took care of our well-being with great commitment and passion. His knowledge of wildlife and nature was impressive and enriched our tour immensely. We were lucky enough to observe a variety of animals in their natural habitat, including elephants, lions, giraffes and many more. Every moment was unique and exciting, and our guide made sure we had the best sightings while always being safe. It was especially pleasing that our 3-year-old daughter also had a wonderful time. She was fascinated by the many animals and enjoyed the variety and excitement of the safari. Our guide was incredibly patient and empathetic so our daughter felt comfortable and safe all the time. We were particularly impressed by the way our guide responded to our questions and accompanied each observation with fascinating stories and details. His enthusiasm was infectious and made the experience very special. We recommend the safari at Selous Game Reserve to every nature and animal lover – and families with young children! Thanks to our guide, this tour became an unforgettable adventure that we will always carry in our hearts. Absolutely recommended and definitely a must for anyone who wants to experience wild Africa up close!

An unforgettable experience! - One of the most amazing days of our lives! The organisation was so efficient and we had the best driver (Shaban) and guide (Emile) that we could have hoped for. Managed to see an abundance of species but the standouts had to be the Elephants and Lions. A truly remarkable and heart-warming experience.

10 out of 10 - thank u, Holly 🫶 - Want to thank Holly for one of the best excursions I’ve ever had - he managed to show us everyone who lives in the park during only 1-day excursion! We were lucky to see even big elephant family and pride of 12 lions just in 1 metre opposite to the Jeep! That is 10/10!

Great tour with great guide - The safari tour was amazing, we got to see and experience the wild, beautiful nature of the Tanzanian savannah. Our tour guide Mr Martin was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions easily. The tour guides really make sure that you have a great time and actually get to see as many of the animals as you can. I would highly recommend booking this experience!

Don’t worry about the plane; vehicles unreliable! - Both my wife and I went on this tour with TUI who use Fisherman Tours Zanzibar. The day itself will be remembered for 3-things - a vehicle that didn’t restart when stopping to look at some zebra & being pushed along by another vehicle to jump start it; getting stuck in mud (Mister Chevvy the driver seemed inexperienced to me) ; front near side wheel bearing failing and awaiting on the side of a dirt road in the middle of a game reserve awaiting rescue! It did somewhat spoil the experience - the animals were abundant apart from the big cats; but no one saw any that day! We were rescued in the end by another private tour vehicle (assumed private as only two passengers enabling 6 of us to squeeze on board) and transferred to another to get us back to the air strip! Both vehicles were far better than ours - road worthy and much newer & hence better equipped. I did take issue with TUI on the following day about their vetting of providers of the service. Better maintenance would probably prevented both vehicle faults. The starter motor not engaging meant the car wouldn’t start (loud clicking noise heard when trying the ignition); as for the wheel bearing the issue was known as the driver was shaking the wheel at the breakfast stop. There was obviously some concern. A very bumpy day on & off road so be prepared to be thrown about - not recommended for someone recently having a hip replacement! Our experience was tarnished but I think it is important to state the day is well organised, guide (Mister Martin) very knowledgeable and speak good English (I suspect a guide could be supplied that speaks most languages). Biggest issue for my wife was the “outdoor” restroom (yes behind that bush) as there is no danger from animals! There was a Portaloo available at lunchtime; it wasn’t pleasant apparently! I guess the maintenance issue is all down to cost of repairs and loss of revenue when the car is off the road? I should have realised something was amiss when I saw the speedo wasn’t working; I suspect so the mileage was not added daily on the tours! I guess knowing your speed isn’t essential but mileage is a useful reminder for servicing!
