Highly recommend - My boyfriend and I spent 5 days in Zanzibar and loved it. We went on two days of tours with Zan Archpelago Tours. We booked the first one through TripAdvisor and our guide was Ishmael. He was fantastic - super knowledgeable, personable and fun. We booked the second tour with this operator via WhatsApp because we couldn’t find an existing itinerary that covered everything we wanted, so this tour operator prepared an itinerary based on our specific preferences. Ishmael was so great that we requested him again for our second day. All the activities were so well organized and a lot of fun. Highly recommend Zan Archpelago and specifically Ishmael.

Amazing trip to Prison island and I Nakupenda island - We booked a day trip to prison island and to Nakupenda island (sand bank). We paid extra for a transfer from our hotel near Kendwa Beach to stone town which was $80 including return. The boat took us to both islands. The tour guide at Prison island was very informative and helpful we also got to feed the tortoises. We went on to Nakupenda island which was beautiful ! where they prepared use a beautiful BBQ lunch which tasted incredible and we got to swim and take pictures. Definitely worth the money and was affordable. The staff was very friendly and helpful :)

Exceptional experience - On the prison island we can visit and even feed the giant turtles that inhabit it, dozens of them! There is also a restaurant with a terrace under the biggest tree we have ever seen. Beautiful landscapes with the turquoise sea as a background. On the sandbank, another incredible experience with diving in an ocean with a temperature of 28° and tasting freshly cut fruit.

Solo trip to Prison Island and Nakupenda. - Had an excellent day trip with Muustar. Very friendly and polite. He was able to answer questions and the day was very chill - no rushing or stuck to a time limit. He also very kindly offered to take photos throughout the day. The food on the sandbar was delicious. I would definitely recommend this to visitors to Stone Town.

A great experience! - An excellent trip all around. Yussef was a great guide, got us to the tortoises before the huge crowd, and had a great afternoon snorkeling and relaxing on the sandbar beach. Great lunch. Would definitely recommend!

Solo traveler - This was such a well organized trip. Every single activity was well planned and so much fun. I particularly want to thank my guide, Rose, and driver Ibra, for their hospitality and making sure I was happy. The dolphins were my and cave were my favorite parts! I would also like to add that I was a solo traveler and enjoyed myself!

Not bad but nothing unforgettable... - Nothing went terribly wrong, but the all in all experience could even better. The guys who accompanied us tried their best, but the the all trip was a bit rough and ready. Nakupenda is magic place and worth going while in Zanzibar.

DO NOT HIRE THIS EXCURSION - Don't take this tour. It's not worth it. It's very expensive for what you're actually going to do and see. First you'll be taken to a sandbank with no seabed, you'll only see seaweed. In the background you see the port of stone town (from where you take the boat). Of course, the food they put us was brutal, I can not say anything about this, a tray for 5 people at least of different fruits and another tray with fries and seafood great for also about 5 people (there were 2). Then you'll go to prison island... a real scam. They sell you the tour as a whole day... we have actually been 3 1/2 hours in total + transfers depending on where you stay. Rent a motorbike or a car ($20 x day) go to stone town and negotiate with a boatman to take you. About 70000 Tanzanian shillings which is about 23-25 dollars. Shopping 2 mangoes and a bunch of bananas and ready. You add the entrance to prison island and the gas and for 60-70 dollars you have it done
