Explore the heart of Stone Town - Our guide Amina was awesome - she was knowledgeable, professional, and fun (teaching us some of our new favorite Tanzanian music during the drives!). The tour was great if you really wanted to understand the history of Stone Town and the surrounding areas. Prison Island was okay, the tortoises felt a bit out of place to us, but worth learning about. And the spice farm was engaging and educational. But the slave trade museum was definitely the most powerful and valuable part of the experience for us. The variety of activities throughout the day made this tour feel like great value, and we loved our guide.

Amazing Experience!!! - I recently took the Full-Day Private Stone Town + Spice Farm and Prison Island Tour and it was fantastic! We began with an informative exploration of Stone Town, learning about its rich history with a knowledgeable guide. Prison Island was a highlight with its giant tortoises and a fun snorkeling session. The spice farm was equally impressive, offering a sensory delight with fresh spices and fruits. The tour was well-organized, with seamless hotel transfers and personalized attention throughout the day. It was both safe and enjoyable, and I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to experience the best of Zanzibar in one day!

Spice Farm, Prison Island and Stonetown - The visit to the spice farm was very informative. The guide explained everything well. When visiting Prisonisland we liked the turtles the most. Stonetown was a little disappointed, except for the market.

Day with the tortoises - Prison Island with the tortoises was interesting and fun. Spice Island was different but it rained heavily while there. There were several instances where the locals did things *made us palm frond hats and climbed trees for coconuts* and expected tips. We had left our money in the van. It should be advised to the guests prior to going. Driver spoke little English. Did not advise us that we were meeting a guide at the Spice farm. It should also be advised in Stone Town to have some shillings because many vendors do not take dollars or US credit cards.

The tour was of Stone Town, Spice tour and prison Island. It was too long and. It enough attention was given to us. - It was a long tour (8 hours) our tour guide gave up about 1/2 way through. We visited the spice farm first, about an hour away. That was nice as we were handed off to the Spice ranch tour guide. After that we were dropped off at the spice market in Stone town to start our tour. Our guide was enthusiastic for about the next hour then gave up. He was somewhat knowledgeable but didn’t give my partner and I the same attention. He was always walking ahead of us and not looking back to see if we were held up taking pictures or what not. Our last tour for the day was Prison Island. After arrival, he took us to the fort and said,”I’ll be sitting here and left us to negotiate the fort by ourselves. At this time he was constantly on his phone. After the fort we went to where the giant tortoises were located. It was so crowded that we couldn’t get through the path. We knew he had given up so we decided to leave. Took the short boat trip back to the mainland (about 20min) and parted ways with a $20 tip and 6.5 hours later. Our pick up was at 8:30am and 3 we hadn’t eaten or drank much. We had no more energy to continue. We felt like food wasn’t on out 8 hour itinerary. Very disappointed in the lack of attention we received. 3 stars was generous

Stone town, spice farm & prison island tour - I'm giving a 2 star review because our tour guide was on his phone the majority of the tour. We also didn't see some of the architecture listed on the itinerary. Seeing the spice farm, prison island and stone town was definitely amazing, but we would have loved to have had a more guided tour. We didn't learn much from the tour and had to Google most things after the fact. It was more like a brisk walk instead of a tour where our guide walked ahead of us the whole time. It didn't really feel like it was worth the money we paid. I would probably recommend to others to take a tour with another company.
