Magical Safari Experience - Magical experience. Everything from the hotel pickup in the morning to the drop off in the evening was perfectly organised. The tour itself was beyond our wildest expectations. We managed to see almost all of the animals. We saw elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, impala, warthogs, vultures, baboons, buffalo and zebras. We weren’t lucky enough to see lions but our driver Herman said they sleep 18hrs a day and you can go weeks without seeing them. Ultimately it really doesn’t matter what you see as just being there in their natural habitat is magical. Definitely recommend this tour for true safari lovers!

Great day - Great experience the guide was very knowledgeable and we saw so many animals Lunch was good just remember that until lunch there are no bathrooms so it's bush toilets if you're desperate Flight there and back on time and seeing the aircraft fly in to the dirt runway was something I'll always remember

Safari day that met our expectations - Perfect organization by Njema safari, the taxi came to pick us up at 4 a.m. at our hotel, the Zanzibar/Selous park flight was on time (6 a.m.) and we were welcomed at the entrance to the park by our guide. 6-seater vehicle, fairly quick departure then a day full of discoveries and emotions. In total around 10 hours on the slopes (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), experienced driver/guide (his name: Enedi? I give it roughly) who did not hesitate to get off the slope to get as close as possible near animals. Drivers communicate with each other to indicate their locations. Small coffee/tea break by the lake mid-morning and one-hour lunch break at the foot of the baobab trees. We do quite a few kilometers, a lot of bumps+++ in the holes and bumps of the tracks, constantly. We saw Impalas and other antelopes, giraffes, family elephants, hippos, a wildebeest, baboons, zebras, a lioness+++, hyenas (3 kinds), crocodiles, birds (marabouts, vultures, eagles fishermen)… return to the park gate, we wait a bit for the plane at the edge of the runway, takeoff for Zanzibar. Our taxi meets us at the airport and takes us back to our hotel. Very satisfied with this busy, tiring day but with beautiful images and beautiful memories. Only downside: the invitation received by email indicated: time of activity 6 a.m., pick-up from your hotel. We were suspicious and wrote an email to the organizer for more details. In fact it was 6 a.m. departure from the plane, and 4 a.m. at our hotel (which was not noted).

Just awesome! - We had a wonderful day! The landscapes are breathtaking and our guide, “KP”, did not hesitate to go off the beaten track in order to show us as many things as possible. We saw a lot of animals and got lots of explanations from the guide. Everything was very well organized. Thank you very much for this moment that we will not forget!

Simply amazing - Our driver was waiting at our AirBnB on the other side of Zanzibar (Jambiani) at 4am, exactly as arranged. We were greeted at the airport after a one-and-a-bit hour drive, and were able to board the aircraft to Mtemere Airstrip shortly after. Once at the reserve, there did seem to be some confusion regarding our booking as our names weren’t on any of the guides’ lists. Luckily, the team on site was able to resolve this swiftly by arranging another tour guide that was on standby (which in turn lead to us having a private safari, with just me, my girlfriend, and the guide in the car). During the 9-hour safari we were able to see lots of animals, including giraffes, lions, elephants, hippos, antelopes, and much more. Our guide, Songoron, was very friendly and knowledgeable on all the animals in the reserve. Around 4pm our guide brought us back to the airstrip, from where we flew back to Zanzibar and were taken back to our AirBnB by the same driver that had picked us up in the early morning. All in all, a must-do experience when you’re on Zanzibar. Truly one of the most surreal places me and my girlfriend have ever had the privilege of visiting.

Amazing and fun experience - The safari game drive was amazing! The guide, driver, lunch and morning tea were all good. It was such a memorable trip. The pick up and drop off from the hotel went smoothly. The only reason I’m not giving a perfect score is because of the poor communication about the departure time. I booked a 7AM trip, but was given a 6AM ticket. This was fine, and I was told I would be picked up at 4.45AM. When I got to the airport at 5ish jn rhe morning, one of the guides was surprised that I was picked up very early because my flight was scheduled for 7AM. He asked me if my agent texted me about the change, and I didn’t get any messages. The flight was chartered, but it also left later and we were not told why. But it’s all good because it waited for us at Nyerere airport. Other than the communication mishaps, I have no other comments. It was well worth the trip! It was super fun, and seeing all the wildlife was in their natural habitat was such an amazing experience. The landscape in Selous/ Nyerere was also really beautiful. Definitely a must visit trip!

Comparison with Other Safaris - Having experienced other Safaris in Pilanesberg, South Africa, Aberdare, Kenya and Maasai Maria, Kenya, this Safari has much less number of each type animals. Contrary to what was advertised as possibly seeing the big 5, Rhino was expected NOT to be seen. Lots of the park are shrubs and trees making the animals hard to find. Redeeming points are variety of birds and hippos.

This is not the best safari! - Poor value for money. Very dear we paid 1360 euros to two. The only difference is that we had a jeep alone with the driver. Very few remote and isolated animals. No hugs. All safaris do the same thing and meet for coffee break and lunch. After lunch we go straight home contrary to what we were told. Not recommended.
