Stone town and Prison island tour - We went to Prison island on this trip as well. Our guide Othman was an absolute gentleman. He explained everything in tremendous detail to us. Great sense of humour. We had a great day with him. We highly recommend booking with them.

Interesting day out learning about Zanzibar - We were picked up by a lovely driver, Abu, who was polite and could answer questions about Zanzibar on the way to Stonetown. On arrival our guide Osman was friendly and told us about the history of Zanzibar. He was very knowledgeable. Both our driver and guide looked after us and we felt happy in their company. I saw some people felt pressure to give tips but we didn't experience this. I wish both our driver and guide the best for the future as they were such warm, caring men.

I recommend this tour operator - I booked three tours with Zanziworld tour. First the Stone town guided historical walking city tour, where I would have liked the tour guide to be a little more enthusiastic and piqued our interest, but we had the chance to see everything in Stone town. The second tour was the blue safari, where they took us to a sandband and we ate fruit and swam for few minutes and then we transfered a little further on the boat and we swam with some fish. To be honest I wasn't impressed as I was expecting something more, but our tour guide was perfect and taught us some Swahili phrases. The third tour included 1)the Jozani forest, where there are the playful Red Colobus monkeys, 2) the spice farm tour which was amazing and the food they served us there was delicious, and 3) the Prison Island with the huge turtles, which was also very nice. The communication through WhatsApp was very good. Finally, my transportation and the driver for the tours were very good, given that each time I had different pick-up and drop-off points, because I was staying in different places in Zanzibar.

Stone Town Walking Tour - We liked the walking tour through Stone Town. The Guide could tell us a lot about the history of Zanzibar and Stone Town itself.

A bit desirable, but recommended. - The walk through the city was a little running, and I felt that there were some buildings missing for my notes to be shown. Another problem is that some buildings are being renovated, so it is impossible to visit them. Apart from that, the guide who accompanied me was very careful and respectful, in addition to knowing the history of the city, if not deeply, at least satisfactorily.

Walk around on your own and save the money - We booked the Stone Town walking tour followed by a Sunset Dhow cruise. We waited for almost an hour for our guide to turn up. The driver first told us that the guide had transport problems, then later said that the original guide was double booked. What followed was two hours of walking around the streets of Stone Town. All the historical attractions we were taken to were either closed for renovations (Sultan's Palace, Baths) or had fallen down (House of Wonders). The only place we could go into was the Freddy Mercury museum, where we had to pay extra to go inside. The "tour" ended at 3pm (would have been 2pm if the guide was on time) and we were then told we had to wait until 17:30 for the sunset cruise. We did not want to sit around waiting for what we feared would be another bad experience and asked the guide to cancel the dhow cruise and arrange for us to return to our hotel. On the way back to the hotel we received a message from the tour company saying we still had to pay for the dhow cruise! We ended up paying over $300 for two hours walking around the streets of Stone Town looking at doors and buildings being renovated. At the start of the tour the guide told us that he would take us to a shop at the end of the tour. He mentioned this again several times during the tour even though we told him we were not interested in shopping. True to his word we ended up at the shop where we refused to go inside. This was the only thing he seemed to focus on during the entire "tour".
