Really great tour!!! - Alfa was amazing!!! He was extremely knowledgeable. He waited with me while I awaited my driver to pick me up. We even stopped at a restaurant because I was hungry. So I felt safe, and he was nice and taught me things I did not know before,

We had a great time on our Stone Town Walking Tour! - My mom, daughter, and I went on this 2-hour walking tour and we all had a great time. We were so appreciative of our guide, he is very knowledgeable and interesting, and told us about the history of Zanzibar and Tanzania and the complex history of Stone Town itself, plus took us around and showed us the beautiful and varied architecture, the historic buildings, and the current markets and hangout spots for the residents of the city. All three of us really enjoyed the tour - it was an easy pace/distance with lots of great photo opportunities, and we loved getting to see the historic city of Stone Town.

Very informative tour - I went solo on this Town Tour and have to say it was amazing. We started on the sea side and the tour guide explained the history of Tanzania and Zanzibar to me. We continued through other topics such as politics and Stone Town history. Then we moved through the Town and the tour continued to be still very informative, I have learned so much! The guide then guided me through the market and back to where we started. I highly recommend this tour, Im happy I did it as a learned so much and walked to places I probably would not feel comfortable visiting solo. The guide also always asked if I would like to see the place or not so there is a space in case you wanted to adjust the tour, I guess.

Stone town walk - We had a very informative tour of Stonetown with Alfa. I would recommend booking ahead and using him as a guide on your first day, it's easier than finding your way alone. Alfa was on time and very friendly.

Badly organised and poor service - Booked this for three friends as it had good ratings. The booking link gave a google map location inside a closed construction site. We didn’t have a number so we walked around for 30 minutes and eventually worked out that the meeting point was a different location in front of the construction site. Another guide said he could run a tour for uson behalf of the operator so we agreed. He was very nice but his English caused some confusion over dates and events in history. The tour was shorter than advertised at 1.5 hours. We asked for a 50% discount which was refused by the operator and Viator couldn’t help any further. It was almost £50 for a disappointing tour - you could just buy a lonely planet guide and do it yourself.

Scam set up by the guide after the visit, very disappointed! - To flee ! It's a scam! At the end of the visit the guide tried to extract money from us with the help of an accomplice posing as his agency manager. Moreover, for a guide, mastery of the language was quite remote. The local service provider was: Alfa Tours & Safaris
