The Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) - Originally a Portuguese fort built in the 17th century under Vasco da Gama to protect against enemies, it was the first structure built by the Portuguese. Later, Arabs developed the city, and during their rule, the fort served as a theater. Under British rule, it became a women’s tennis court.
