Highlights

Tianzi mountain(Cable car),Lao Wu Chang Rice Fleids Village,Yuanjiajie Avatar mountain(elevator)

Tianzi Mountain - Also known as the Kingdom of Peaks, Tianzi Mountain boasts over 1,000 peaks. Numerous viewing platforms offer different perspectives of these unique peaks adorned with beautiful trees, reminiscent of traditional Chinese paintings, often referred to as enlarged Bonsai or a mini fairyland. The most renowned view here is the Imperial Writing Brush, the first image on Zhangjiajie stamps and the official picture of the park. Some visitors consider Tianzi Mountain the most beautiful mountain in the world. In 1986, Helong Park was established on Tianzi Mountain to commemorate the 90th birthday of Helong, one of the ten marshals in the PLA, whose hometown lies at the foot of the mountain. Visitors can see his bronze statue with a horse and his cemetery. The Tianzi Mountain Cable Car offers a scenic route to the mountain’s summit.

Laowuchang - A sightseeing bus takes you to Lao Wu Chang, a local village on the mountain where the Tujia minority people live and cultivate rice fields. The village offers a serene and happy lifestyle. Facing the Sky Elevator, the area features 48 peaks known as the 48 Generals Line Up. Walking among the platforms provides stunning mountain views from various angles, creating the impression of a vast garden in the air. This hidden gem in the park sees few tourists, allowing visitors to appreciate the tranquil beauty of mountain life.

Yuanjiajie - At Yuanjiajie Avatar Mountain, you can explore the large mesa platform for about an hour, passing the Sky Pillar, the largest floating mountain in the movie Avatar, which stands 350 meters above the ground. Known as the Sky Pillar or Avatar Mountain, it is the most famous spot here. The Heaven Bridge, 350 meters high, is the world’s highest natural bridge, earning the title of No. 1 bridge in the world. The Enchanting Platform offers a mesmerizing view of green mountains in various shapes and distances, making it easy to lose track of time. The peaks here are larger than those at Tianzi Mountain, providing a close-up experience of their grandeur.

BaiLong Elevator - The Bailong Elevator holds three world records: it is the highest outdoor mountain elevator at 326 meters, the fastest glass sightseeing elevator at 5 meters per second, and the largest elevator, carrying 64 people at a time. The 88-second ride to the top offers views of the 48 peaks, resembling generals lined up.

Yellow Dragon Cave, Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, and Grand Canyon

Yellow Dragon Cave - Known as the most beautiful cave in China and the best-selling in terms of tickets, Yellow Dragon Cave offers a comprehensive cave experience. The cave stretches 7.5 kilometers in length and reaches a depth of 140 meters. Experts believe the area was once an ocean with limestone and dolomite layers at the bottom millions of years ago. About 65 million years ago, the crust uplifted, forming vadose caves that eventually became Yellow Dragon Cave through rock dissolution and running water. It is considered the all-round champion among caves worldwide.

Yellow Dragon Cave features five main sightseeing spots: Dragon’s Palace, Fairy Water, Rattle River, Paradise Pillar Street, and Dragon Dance Hall. With over 100 attractions, including Mythical Needles Stabilizing the Sea, Snow Pine, King’s Throne, Lift-off of Rocket, Mountain of Flowers and Fruits, Fairy Waterfalls, and Sea-Change, it offers a diverse and captivating experience.

Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge - Opened in August 2016, Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge set 10 world records. Visitors can challenge themselves on the 355-meter-high glass bridge, which offers a sensation of being above the clouds and a unique feeling of unity with the sky. The bridge also provides a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful canyon below.

The Grand Canyon of Zhangjiajie - Visitors can descend into the canyon via zipline, slideway, or elevators. A 5-kilometer walk along the river inside the Grand Canyon reveals stunning natural scenery, including clear water streams, green cliffs, waterfalls, and caves. The journey concludes with a boat ride out of the canyon.

Tianmen Mountain, drop off to Zhangjiajie airport (train station or bus station)

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - Standing at 1,518.6 meters, Tianmen Mountain is the highest peak in Zhangjiajie and the second 5A-rated spot in the area. Established as a national forest park in 1992, it is a popular destination for its steep cliffs, natural beauty, and panoramic views of the mountains and city. The mountain is famous for the Tianmen Cave, a natural arch formed by a collapsing cliff. Highlights include the 7.5-kilometer-long Tianmen Mountain Cableway, the Bonsai Garden in the air, plank roads, glass walkways, Tianmen Cave, and the Heaven-linking Avenue, all of which make it a worthwhile visit.

6 day tour of Tianzi mountain,Yuanjiajie mountain,Baofeng lake, Glass Bridge, Grand Canyon, yellow stone village, Furong town De - I got Kelly from ZhangJiaJie Intl travel services, to arrange a full itinerary, very detailed and very well organized. I had a private tour with an English speaking guide. Chris used his comfortable car to pick me up at the airport and over the full 7 days till drop off at the airport, made my trip amazing. He went to great lengths to ensure all entry tickets were pre booked as there were around 2 hr wait times in que to get on cable cars etc. I can't say enough about this company and in particular Kelly and Chris. A fantastic trip to Zhangijajie area and seen the max. Don't suggest going in Chinese School holiday July through Aug. Huge crowds. Well done.

Great trip with excellent guidance - Last month, May 2024, my wife and I traveled to China. Among the other sites we visited, we spent 5 days in Zhangjiajie. We learned about the sites in the Zhangjiajie area before the trip and figured out roughly where to visit. Now we started debating how to make the trip, we are an elderly couple from Israel, aged 78-80, it is not possible to rent a car in China and we realized that wandering around the sites requires help. We were looking for a private guide, who would suit our activity hours and our physical limitations. Happily we found Kelly and Chris. After a letter by email, we received a quick response, they helped us determine the route better than we could prepare ourselves, set us a favorable price - we felt we were in good hands. Kelly prepared a plan for us for 4 days that included Nnational park (Tianzi mountain, Yuanjiajie Avatar with Bailong elevator, Yellow stone Village, Golden whip stream), Tianmen Mountain, fox fairy show, Baofeng Lake, Grand canyon, glass bridge (...now you, readers, have an excellent plan). For three days we were in the hands of an excellent guide, Lulu, she enriched us with knowledge and led us on routes that we would not have reached without her, and all with agility, patience and intelligence. On the fourth day we were accompanied by Terry, also a great guide who at the end of the day brought us to the airport and even helped us with our luggage and at the check-in counter. On all four days Kelly accompanied us and the guides from her office and even changed the plan according to changes in the weather. We were very satisfied and for that our thanks and appreciation to Kelly, Lulu and Terry. One can get the impression of this article as an advertisement, but everything is true.

4 day trip to Zhangjiajie and surroundings - We had a beautiful trip to Zhangjiajie and surroundings. Our guide Chris helped us out with planning the trip. He knows the region really well and could tell a lot about the different places that we visited. He arranged the driver and tickets which made the trip smooth. We went to the astounding park, the glass bridge and canyon, to an impressive cave in the Karst mountains, took a boat tour, went to tianmen mountain, and on suggestion of Chris to the towns of Furong and Fenghuang. It was an intens but beautiful experience. There are really some incredible places to visit in the region.

Recommended 100% - Kelly was awesome. If you don't wanna worried about buying tickets and waiting for queues this is the best option. Also she sent a planning for everyday to manage better our time. If you don't speak Chinese, it's difficult to get to the places. Even we got lost on the way to our hotel and she talked to the hotel to get the address.

Trip of the lifetime - I can't believe if my entire Trip was actual a reality. I was fascinated with Avatar mountains and finally decided to visit China. I am not exactly someone who seeks tourists but quick search was enough to know that interiors of China aren't exactly easy for a solo female, English speaking vegetarian traveler. I found recommendation for Chris on TA and reached out. That it. That's all it took. He was quick to respond. Transparent and detailed. He picked me from Airport at time, helped me with everything, all entries were pre arranged, car was clean and new. He always stopped to ask if I need anything and helped me with Vegetarian food and recommendations to do something in evening. He is a very patient guide who knows this is lifetime experience for guests. From assessing weather for clear visibility up there to going and staying there patiently for fog to pass...he was completely invested in my good. Fantastic trip! And this tour is a must in China. These places are unreal.
