Shifen, another historic town close to Taipei, invites visitors to stroll along the old railway track and release sky lanterns. Please be aware that the railway track is still operational.
During Weekends & Holidays:
Traffic control is in effect during weekends and holidays. Visitors must use the Jiufen shuttle to reach Jiufen Old Street, a journey that takes just 10 minutes. Ensure you have an Easycard with at least NT$30, or bring NT$30 in cash (NT$15 each way) for the shuttle bus fare.
Please be aware that if the Shifen Waterfall suspension bridge is under annual maintenance, an alternative route will be used, which may involve additional walking.
