Shifen, another charming old town near Taipei, invites visitors to stroll along the historic rail track and release their own sky lanterns. Please be aware that the rail track is still operational.
During Weekends & Holidays:
Traffic control measures are in place during weekends and holidays. Visitors must use the Jiufen shuttle to reach Jiufen Old Street, a journey that takes just 10 minutes. Ensure you have an Easycard with at least NT$30, or bring NT$30 in cash (NT$15 each way) for the shuttle bus fare.
Please be advised that if the Shifen Waterfall suspension bridge is under annual maintenance, an alternative route will be provided, which may involve additional walking.
