Informative food tour - We had Garen on our 10 tastings food tour and she was amazing. We had to reschedule our tour to an earlier time to avoid rain and early food stalls closure due to typhoon Krathon. Garen kept us updated on the weather conditions throughout and we managed to do the tour complete with food and Taiwan’s history and cultural information. She is full of local knowledge and provided many tips for first time travellers to Taiwan. Highly recommended tour with a passionate local guide in Garen.

Garen is the absolute queen of the Taipei food scene! - WHAT AN AMAZING TOUR!!! Garen was phenomenal- she introduced us to sooo many lovely food gems and places. We did another tour with her as well a few days later because she is the absolute best - this is NOT TO BE MISSED!!! She was wonderful with our little boy as well. We are so fortunate to have this experience with her!!!

Very good experience - Our guide Nicolas was very nice. He let us prove some of the typical dishes and the food was very good, besides he explained some facts about Taiwan and his history. Definitely recommend this tour with Nicolas.

Garen food tour A+ - We had the most amazing tour of Dongmen market and Yongkang with Garen as our guide. From start to finish, communication was excellent. She asked us for our preferences prior to the tour, and organized a perfect tour showing us parts of Taiwanese food culture we had not seen yet! She sprinkled in important Taiwanese history and politics so we left with a warm belly and a mind enlightened. She has a wonderful relationship with many vendors, which meant we were treated like royalty and experienced things we never would have otherwise. We could not have asked for a more perfect experience! Thank you, Garen.

good food and history all-in-one - We were very impressed with June. She not only brought us through the market and made us try the various street food of the area but also weaved into the tour, the facinating recent history of Taiwan. She is an excellent ambassador for Taiwan. Thank you, June!

A fabulous food tasting and cultural education - Cola, was a fabulous guide and a lovely person. She was extremely knowledgeable about the culture and food of Taiwan and we experienced some interesting food. My favourite was the scallion pancake She went into detail about the areas we walked through and showed us around Longshan temple. Describing the different Gods and shrines and explaining who and how they were worshipped. Highly recommended.

A must do in Taipei - We had the 5pm foodtour with June and we enjoyed it so much. She talked to us about so many things from food to Taipei, to culture etc. There was so much to try and taste and she showed us a lot of cute shops with local food in great settings, packaging etc Taiwanese have so much eye for design and packaging, it is a joy to look round the shops June brought us to small local places to taste traditional food with dumplings, rice with sauce made of pork topped of with pickle, soup with a local meatball, scallion pancakes with egg (yummy), tea tasting of Taiwanese grown tea, Taiwanese egg rolls filled with early grey (so nice we took some home) The Taiwanese eat a lot of pork (not beef so beef noodle soup is not traditionally Taiwanese). The cows were used for farming so they were not eaten, the black haired pigs were. So if you are not into pork that much, ask for veggie option. I do not eat pork generally but what I tasted was really good. She also had us try taiwanese sausage and it was really good (I do not like the Chinese ones but I do like these) We were completely full at the end, had a lovely walk and got some great insights into history and culture. Would for sure recommend this tour!

Rich and tasty experience - We had an amazing time with June ! She was so kind and passionate. She showed us many things like local fruits and vegetables and explained us when and how to eat them. We tasted many dishes also one that we wouldn’t have tasted otherwise but we trusted her and we met an amazing old lady that still cooks with her heart and passion. All the dishes were very good and we discovered new flavours We visited a temple and got many explanations about the religion and faiths in Taiwan. We finished with a tea time including the traditional tea preparation in clay teapot It was an amazing experience with rich interactions and tasty discoveries. Thank you so much June for the time we spent with you and your kindness !

Foodie walking tour with June - Excellent introduction to a variety of foods and teas unknown to us….along with nice shops for snacks and souvenirs. Our guide June was terrific—knowledgable, professional, adjusting to our interests and needs. She offered insights about the history, current events and city improvements underway that only someone who lives and knows Taipei could do so well. Highly recommend seeking her for this tour.

Highly recommended tour! - My friend and I had booked this tour and were thrilled to have Garen as our host. Not only did we sample many local and delicious delicacies, it was also clearly evident that Garen was passionate about her country and provided us some great insight into Taiwan and the culture. We visited a market along the way and were able to sample many different foods - including the obligatory boba bubble tea! Garen had great English which made the tour even more enjoyable, she was able to provide suggestions for the remainder of our trip. It was a fabulous tour and I would recommend it for anyone else interested in the local Taiwanese cuisine. If you happen to get Garen as your guide, you'll be doubly blessed.
