Highlights
  • Shihding Ciandao Lake - Your tour begins with a visit to Thousand Island Lake, situated in the southern part of Shiding District, New Taipei City.

The Feitsui Reservoir’s catchment area, surrounded by hills, creates a distinctive landscape—a lake dotted with numerous islands, reminiscent of China’s “Qiandao Lake” (which also means thousand island lake).

  • Bagua Tea Garden - The natural terrain and climate around Feitsui Reservoir make it an ideal region for tea cultivation, including Wenshan Baozhong tea and Dong Fang Mei Ren tea. Bagua Tea Plantation is also located here. From the hilltop, the meticulously planted tea rows resemble the symbols of the Eight Trigrams, giving the garden its name.

You’ll stop here to take in the breathtaking views of the endless tea rows amidst the rolling hills.

  • Pinglin Tea Museum of New Taipei City - The tour continues with a visit to Pinglin Tea Museum, a Hokkien-style Siheyuan (quadrangle courtyard house) that exemplifies traditional Taiwanese architecture.

The museum boasts a rich collection of traditional harvesting tools, tea sets, tea samples, and more, offering insights into the history and evolution of Taiwan’s tea industry. Additionally, AR content provides immersive experiences, allowing you to interact with the exhibits and gain a deeper understanding of Taiwanese tea.

  • Pinglin Old Street - While in Pinglin, you won’t want to miss the chance to taste authentic Taiwanese tea at a local tea shop.

The tea shop owner will introduce you to Taiwanese tea and demonstrate the proper brewing techniques to enhance the tea leaves’ flavors. You’ll also have the opportunity to sample various teas.

A scenic tour in Taiwan! - Our guide, Khiara, was so kind and lovely, and she really made this trip for me! I had only just landed in Taiwan, and this was my first tour. Khiara was friendly, warm and helpful, explaining the different sites knowledgeably and making us all feel at ease. She took pictures of us and cooled us down with her magic anti-heat spray- what a wonderful lady! A great tour, really beautiful and scenic, and a lovely, helpful, knowledgeable guide!

A relaxing way to learn about and appreciate tea - I had a great and relaxing time learning about the history of Taiwan and their tea. Our tour guide was a lovely old man who was very informative and helpful. We took a leisurely stroll to view the Thousand Island lake and some tea plantations. Then we went to a tea shop to enjoy some tea. It was fascinating to learn about tea and its fermentation process, how to prepare the tea and how to drink the tea. We then went to the Pinglin Tea Musuem which was educational and interesting. Some of the art pieces had no English translation so our tour guide was wonderful for explaining it to us. Overall, it was a nice and slow paced tour.

Definitely worth it. - The scene is unbeatable. Our tour guide and the drivers are very accommodating for our two elderly disabled family members. We’ve enjoyed the tea tasting and learned a lot about the culture of tea, farming and different kinds of tea. Definitely worth the half-day trip.

Pinglin Tea tour - Gordon & our driver made a rainy day tour very enjoyable. Loved the history & the Pinglin area. Gave us a ride back to our place too instead of the drop off point……saved us another trip.

Refreshing - What a wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day and our trip to Taipei. The country side of Taipei is so beautiful and the tea master and tasting the various types of local tea really made the trip complete. Christina our tour representative is amazing and really knows her information. She introduced us to a tea egg, which we were hesitant, but hey why not we are here let’s try it. Glad we did. She is so friendly and we enjoyed having her guide our tour. This is a must, especially if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was quite refreshing and enjoyed my Mother’s Day . Thank you Christina!!!

Unsatisfactory Experience - Difficulties with the pickup Very rushed tour finishing in 3 1/2hours as the guide had commitments with the next tour. IE allowing 5 minutes in the museum The guide was pleasant but very domineering and difficult to understand. Very expensive for what was provided.
