Highlights
  • Zriba Olya ⵣⵔⵉⴱⴰ ⴰⵎⵇⵔⴰⵏ - The ancient village, Zriba Olia (Upper Zriba), of Berber origin, is located about three kilometers south of Hammam Zriba. Built between two rocky peaks, the village now in ruins offers a magnificent view of the Jebel Zaghouan
  • Takrouna - A small Berber village of the Sahel region, it is built on a rock culminating at 200 meters above sea level and overlooking a surrounding plain, overlooking the Gulf of Hammamet, Hergla and Sousse to the east, the Jebel Zaghouan to north and the plain of Kairouan to the south.
  • Medina of Hammamet - The medina of Hammamet extends over a small space on the southern tip of the city Hammamet. Surrounded by ramparts, the latter are pierced by three entrances. The medina of Hammamet is considered the oldest urban structure in the city, it benefits from a strategic location by the sea. And that is what makes it an original city. Its spatial layout reflects characteristics that govern the Arab-Muslim lifestyle and reflects the inspiration of its culture. The medina is indeed surrounded by a walled enclosure and reinforced by a citadel called “the kasbah” built of high and thick walls containing three gates through which the ancient city communicated with the outside built of a fort built by the Arabs in the 12th Century, as well as towers enclosed in a wall. The fundamental principle of its spatial layout is based on the clear separation between public life and private life.

Excellent guide, interesting and knowledge - Wonderful trip to the heart of Berber territory. Ghassan was an amazing guide - patient and knowledgeable with a genuine desire to share his love of the amazing history and culture of Tunisia. Sharing bread and harissa by the kiln was a special memory.

Wonderful learning experience! - Excellent private tour guide/driver. We saw some very interesting Amazigh villages in the Tunisian countryside. The locals kept inviting our group in for a meal at their houses. Everyone was so nice and definitely would recommend this to anyone visiting Tunisia 🇹🇳 for the first time.

A pleasant and memorable experience - The tour was rather expensive to me but I think it worth the money. It was a private tour and I travelled in a comfortable and clean private car, with 1 driver and 1 tour guide serving me and my partner. The tour started at 9am and ended at 7pm, the pick up location was our hotel and the drop off location at Hotel Africa was selected by ourselves. During the journey, the guide tried her best to introduce the attractions we were going and the history of Tunisia. We went to 2 berber villages and a small town Hammamet near the seashore. We were able to take good photos at the first Berber village which we did not see any villagers as it was on top of a hill, we only interacted with some wild cats which were adorable and friendly. At the 2nd Berber village, we were able to interact with the only remaining villager. The old lady demonstrated traditional bread making to us, and treated us to freshly made breads with delicious dipping and mint tea. It was really a memorable experience to interact with the local minorities which I seldom have such chance. Hammamet was a beautiful seaside small town and the restaurant recommended by our tour guide was good too. We enjoyed delicious squid, octopus and ravioli along with a nice sea view. The travel agent was run by a family, the son acted as the owner, daughter as the tour guide and the father as driver. The service was attentive and the experience was unique. Highly recommended.

Great trip through history with amazing guides - Fantastic day trip ! The Berber villages were spectacular and the guides were fabulous. There were also a couple of very nice and authentic surprises along the way. All the while feeling very safe with our guides and there was zero attempt to upsell which we have often found on some trips like this.

Wonderful experience ! - We were picked up promptly at 8:30 at our hotel in Hammamet by our wonderful guide who took us on an all day private visit of several Berber villages, the Water Palace and the Hammamet Medina. Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Tunisia’s rich history and answered all of my questions (and there were a lot!) I felt very safe the whole time travelling with our guide and will never forget this great experience. I particularly appreciated that this tour company is family-run and independent and I would highly recommend!

To have! - Splendid abandoned Berber village. Nice view. It offers a panoramic view of another village on one side, of the mountain on the other.

Hot and Irritable - The driver tour guide was prompt. I enjoyed visiting the Berber villages and the experience. The Berber people were hospitable and lovely. The driver tour guide could have provided more backstory/culture and history. It would have been appreciated. Extremely hot day, The driver tour guide did not offer water and only asked me about my comfort and the lack of air conditioning in the car once. Both windows were rolled down in the front for cross ventilation. Glad I had a hat. The driver tour guide left me unattended in the hot car for 5 minutes while he did an errand.
