Day 1: Arrival in Accra

Day 1: Arrival in Accra

Day 2: Accra City Tour
Begin the day with a walking tour through the Nima suburb to explore a different side of Accra. Guests will meet local families and observe their lifestyle. The tour continues to the nearby fishing village of James Town, known as the ‘original Accra,’ featuring historic streets, a 19th-century lighthouse, the Dutch-built Ussher Fort, and the Portuguese James Fort. For a panoramic view of the city, guests can climb the old lighthouse near James Fort. The tour also includes a visit to the nearby Arts Centre for National Culture.
Day 3: Cocoa Trail & Ashanti Kingdom
Travel to the Ashanti Region with a stop at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) for a guided tour. Upon arrival, guests will visit the Asante Traditional Buildings, including the Asemaso Traditional Shrine. After lunch, the tour proceeds to the Kejetia Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa.
Day 4: Ashanti Crafts & Nature
The day begins with a visit to the Manhyia Palace, followed by a trip to the craft villages of Ntonso, known for adinkra design, and Ahwiaa, famous for carving. Guests will also visit Adanwomase (Kente) to engage with locals and learn traditional skills such as kente weaving, palm wine tapping, and farming. The day concludes at Lake Bosumtwi, a crater lake believed to have been formed by a meteorite.
Day 5: Market Day & Slave River
The day starts with a visit to the Kejetia Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa. The journey continues to the Central Region through Assin Manso, the site of a slave river.
Day 6: Forts & Castles
The day begins with a visit to Elmina Castle, a well-preserved castle, and the nearby Elmina fish market. The tour continues to Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its West African Historical Museum.
Day 7: Nature Tour
The day starts with a visit to Kakum National Park, featuring undisturbed virgin rainforest and the longest and highest canopy walkway in West Africa. A brief stop is made at Hans Botel, home to crocodiles and abundant birdlife. Guests will also visit a rubber and oil palm plantation and a local factory to observe work in progress.
Day 8: Last Minute Shopping
Guests will visit the vibrant Makola Market and continue to Accra’s Oxford Street before checking in at the airport for departure.
