- The Grand Egyptian Museum - The Grand Egyptian Museum (in English: GEM - Grand Egyptian Museum) is situated a few miles west of Cairo, close to the Pyramids of Giza. It is being constructed to become the world’s largest museum of antiquities, with the capacity to welcome 5 million visitors each year. Besides the commercial and entertainment service buildings, the museum will feature a restoration center and a garden where trees known to ancient Egyptians will be planted. Egypt initiated a campaign to fund the project, with significant contributions from the Japanese agency JICA through soft loans. The museum is set to house over 100,000 artifacts from the Pharaonic, Greek, and Roman periods, providing a substantial boost to Egypt’s tourism sector.
The Grand Egyptian Museum has also launched the Immersive Tutankhamun Exhibition, allowing visitors to embark on a journey with the golden King Tutankhamun, who amazed the world with his tomb.
