Our family adventure to Alton Towers Resort began with a stay at the charming Woodland Lodge. Nestled amidst the serene beauty of nature, the lodge offered a cozy retreat after a day filled with excitement. The kids were thrilled with the rustic yet comfortable setting, and I must admit, the free buffet breakfast was a delightful start to our mornings. The spread was impressive, catering to both the little ones’ picky tastes and our more adventurous palates.

One of the perks of staying at the lodge was the free parking for the second day and the exclusive hotel entrance to the theme park. This meant we could beat the crowds and hop on our favorite rides before the park officially opened. The staff at the lodge and throughout the park were exceptional, always ready with a smile and eager to assist. It truly made our stay feel special and stress-free.

Thrills and Chills at Alton Towers

Alton Towers is a paradise for thrill-seekers and families alike. With over 50 rides and attractions, there was never a dull moment. My husband and I couldn’t resist the adrenaline rush of the legendary Nemesis and the heart-stopping vertical drop of Oblivion. Meanwhile, the kids were enchanted by CBeebies Land, where they met their favorite characters and enjoyed rides tailored just for them.

The Alton Towers app was a lifesaver, helping us navigate the park with ease. It provided real-time updates on queue lengths and walking times, allowing us to maximize our time and avoid long waits. Although some rides like Hex and Thirteen were closed, there was still plenty to keep us entertained. The Sea Life aquarium was a pleasant surprise, offering a peaceful break from the rollercoaster frenzy.

Family Fun Beyond the Rides

Beyond the exhilarating rides, Alton Towers offers a plethora of activities for families. We took a leisurely stroll through the beautiful grounds, soaking in the picturesque scenery. The monorail was a hit with the kids, providing a fun and free way to explore the park.

The carnival games scattered throughout the park were a bit of a distraction, but we managed to steer the kids away with promises of more rides and adventures.
