- Turnagain Arm Drive - Next, travel along the stunning Seward Highway, recognized as a Scenic Byway by the USDA Forest Service, an Alaska Scenic Byway, and an All-American Road. Keep an eye out for Beluga whales, Dall sheep in the Chugach Mountains, bald eagles soaring above, and possibly a moose or black bear! Across the water, admire the Kenai Mountain Range, and on clear days, catch a glimpse of the Alaskan Mountain Range!
The Seward Highway, stretching south from Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula, follows the Turnagain Arm for the initial 40 miles.
- Girdwood - Pass through the charming gold mining and ski town of Girdwood on the way to the Alyeska Ski Resort.
- Alyeska Ski Area - Stop at Alaska’s premier ski resort, Alyeska, with breathtaking views of the Chugach Mountains. Guests can enjoy a hot coffee or snack, shop for gifts, or relax by the cozy fireplace while soaking in the ambiance!
- Hope - From Alyeska Ski Resort, journey to the historic gold town of Hope, Alaska! Travel from the Chugach Mountain Range into the Kenai Mountain Range and Peninsula! In Hope, enjoy lunch and try your hand at gold panning! Guests can also appreciate the serene views and visit historic buildings dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s!
- Whittier - Whittier, Alaska, is a small historic town with a significant impact on the state. As the main port for Anchorage, most cruise passengers flying into or out of Anchorage will pass, albeit briefly, through Whittier. To access Whittier, guests will travel through the Anton Anderson Tunnel, a 2.7-mile bi-modal, bi-directional tunnel shared with the railroad. Whittier also features a small but informative museum, a beautiful park opening to Prince William Sound, and is often home to bears and various other wildlife!
- Anchorage - Finally, conclude the delightful day with a scenic drive back along the Turnagain Arm as the tour returns to Anchorage!
