Trip of a life time! - From the very beginning working the Lion King Safari company has been great! We wanted a memorable honeymoon and we were able to customize what we wanted to do and where we wanted to stay. They were communicative and professional at every step of the process, even when mid trip when we were informed we would need to switch accommodations at our next stop. Our main contact Nickson was always available to answer our questions and take care of our booking/travel needs before and during the trip! When traveling to another country you need someone like Nickson who will answer any question (no matter how big or how small like is this okay to pack?). We felt so comfortable when leaving because of his constant communication and had no worries our entire trip as we knew we could check in with him. The actual trip was beyond what we hoped for and it was all thanks to Juma! I knew I was going to love Juma when we met him and he eagerly said “Let’s go get lost!” Juma is incredibly kind, attentive, and always thoughtful in his actions. He was excited and communicative each day, keeping us informed and collaborating with us on our wants, needs, interests in what to see, and schedule. His cheerful demeanor and laughter is infectious, he's always singing, smiling and checking in to make sure you have an enjoyable day. Juma’s mom was a teacher and he could have been one too! He has a wealth of knowledge about plants, animals, and history of the area making the experience even more enriching. His instincts and navigational sense were always spot on, he consistently had us in the right place at the right time (something you find out is of the upmost importance when trying to see animals constantly on the move). He’ll even help you take the best photos!!! Juma always gave ample time for us to see the animals but was kind and considerate of other jeeps and people wanting to see too. Juma is an amazing driver using road knowledge and the capabilities of his Land Cruiser to give you an exhilarating ride, just hold on and enjoy the views! Every company can offer you a similar itinerary, but those with the best drivers are the ones that make your experience magical and memorable. And Juma is one of those drivers he is truly a happy soul that was the heart of our trip! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, he made the trip everything we dreamed it would be.

Exceptional Safari with Haruni and Lion King - Lion King is a great company and working with Pendo to coordinate our trip was seamless. Pendo and the Lion King team were easy to contact, accommodated our changing needs during planning, and checked in with our safari tour guide, Haruni, throughout the entirety of the safari tour. Our guide, Haruni, made the safari experience unforgettable. He was always punctual, ensuring our schedule ran smoothly and that we maximized our safari days. Haruni's extensive knowledge of animals, state parks, and local culture kept us engaged and informed throughout the trip, especially on long drives between parks. His driving skills were impeccable navigating very tough terrain comfortably and allowing us to get close to wildlife safely. Haruni’s sense of humor, professionalism, and attention to detail, including managing our food allergies, and making sure the safari keep were clean each day were outstanding. Excellent time - From the start to finish, Lion King has been amazing! The whole process was very smooth. We were able to trust them fully and enjoy ourselves. The best part of our tour was definitely our wonderful guide Enock who made sure we had the best safari experience possible. His knowledge, expertise and kindness were very much appreciated.

Safari Honeymoon - Lion King Adventures did an amazing job with planning our tour. We went for our honeymoon and they were essential to making it an unforgettable experience. The safari was unforgettable. Our guide, Yusuph, was very knowledgeable, easy going, accommodating, and kind. He knew an immense amount of information about the animals and made it his priority to locate all of them, even if it meant spending extra time. Our happiness was his goal. He was also amazing with teaching us common Swahili phrases and details about their amazing culture. Lion King Adventures made everything easy and seamless, planning all our meals and accommodations. The lodges they booked were incredible and each one provided a different type of experience. The pictures you see when you are researching/booking don’t do it justice. All the meals during our trip were delicious. You had the opportunity to try local cuisine and other options as well. We would use Lion King Adventures again in a heartbeat.

Fabulous Tanzania trip for our 34th anniversary - Our whole experience with Lion King was first rate. Questions were answered quickly and thoroughly by Ms Florida, who was helpful throughout our trip assisting with everything from luggage challenges at the airport to itinerary changes made by us throughout our trip. Our guide on safari, Goodluck Nkya, provided top notch service, keeping us on track for a very busy schedule, while being flexible when we wanted to change anything. He has detailed knowledge of all the parks and animals and went out of his way to find us experiences to make our trip memorable. I highly recommend him for any safari trip. The places we stayed exceed all expectations and there was always someone at each stop making sure our stay was perfect. (Special call out to Frank at Acacia Farm Lodge and Laureen and staff at Nyota Luxury Camp!)

Gilbert MADE the trip incredible!!! Whatever the cost do it!!! - The trip is honestly beyond words of how spectacular it was. Gilbert is not only an expert when it comes to plants, birds and animals but also takes care of those small details that other places/people would over look, such as washing the outside and inside of the truck, giving it a full wipe down, replacing/tightening loose bolts to prevent and squeaking sounds when going over bumps, being aware that the rear passenger has the window down so making sure to go slow after running over a puddle so the dirt doesn’t kick back up on them, noticing when we are taking videos and turning down the radio all the way so you don’t have that as background noise, noticing your drink of choice and making sure you always have plenty around you. There are so many more small things that add up to making such a difference. It really felt like he was there to make sure our honeymoon was the best it could’ve been. Thanks to him and his expertise we were able to study cheetahs, watch one as it ran after its prey right in front of us!! Thanks to him knowing the path of lions we were able to completely avoid a large gathering of trucks, go in a completely different area and wait, almost like he could read the lions mind they came right past our truck, and called a baby cub right next to us!!! It was incredible absolutely incredible. We were able to not only see a black rino but also its baby!!! There are just too many lifetime memories we now have thanks to Gilbert! There is a reason he is so requested! The trip would not have been the same with anyone else. Gilbert, I thank you for this trip my wife and I will remember forever -Asante Sana!! PS- Not only is he a knowledgeable expert on animals, but he’s also a good person. Anytime another driver was having issues he either helped or asked if they needed anything.

Amazing experience! - We had an amazing experience on our honeymoon safari and are so happy we booked with Lion King Adventures! From the initial quote and booking process with Caroline to working with Rose on the reservation/logistics team, the staff has been extremely professional, friendly, and with excellent communication, and they made the whole trip very easy and stress-free from start to finish. Rose even helped coordinate with our airline in getting our lost luggage back to us very early on in the trip. Our safari guide Aman was AMAZING! He was extremely experienced and knowledgeable about everything we saw and knew exactly where to go and position the jeep for the best views of all the animals up close. We saw the Big 5 and were amazed at how close we got to see all the animals. He was also very skilled at driving through a rainstorm, and we felt very safe the entire time. Aman made sure we had the best experience and we are so grateful he was our guide. Highly recommend booking with Lion King Adventures!

The perfect honeymoon with Lion King Adventures - We could not have had a better honeymoon experience! The team at Lion King Adventures were helpful every step of the way and helped us design the perfect trip. In particular, our safari guide, Dickson, was AMAZING. He was so knowledgable and we learned so much from him. He made the trip spectacular, and thanks to him we saw all of the Big 5 (including 45 lions!). Also, all of the accommodations that Lion King booked for us were incredible. They handled everything for us, and each location was beautiful and unique in its own way. If you're looking to book a safari/beach trip, go with Lion King!

Honeymoon to Remember - Hakuna Matata - Looking for a reputable safari company was not easy. I spent a lot of time searching through reviews, reading through company websites and emailing back and forth with various operators. Lion King Safari’s stood out amongst the group of companies I was inquiring with. They were prompt to respond and answer any and all questions I had, despite our time difference. Additionally, they were not pestering me back with emails asking “so when will you book, send your money” like some other companies did. Upon selecting Lion King we were set up with a zoom meeting to discuss every detail and expectation for our safari. Everything was customized to our taste. We told them specific sites and locations we wanted to see/visit and they came up with the perfect itinerary. Florida handled the planning from our airport pickup and drop off times down to a checklist of packing/to-do items, including our VISAs, medication, and monetary/tipping guide. We also went with most lodge suggestions they had, plus a couple of our own choice and every place we stayed at was beautiful, beyond anything I could’ve imagined. Our driver, Peter, was nothing short of amazing. For those unfamiliar with a safari, especially one in a location like the Serengeti, you must realize that you are with your driver for the majority of your days. They pick you up and drive you around to spot the animals and then drop you off at your lodge at the end of the day. Therefore, it is important to have a driver who is skilled,and safe, as well as being equipped with the proper vehicle. The roads are extremely bumpy and dusty, to the point where it is difficult to see past the clouds of dust. Peter picked us up prepared with a full tank of gas, and made sure the vehicle was properly inspected and maintained prior to our drives. I cannot tell you how many cars we saw changing tires or needing a jump during our trip. We never felt unsafe during any of our drives with Peter, despite how worrisome some of the roads appeared. Another factor regarding driving safety is that at times there can be swarms of safari vehicles honing into one small area in order to get a good view of a must see animal. Peter was able to navigate safely and strategically around other vehicles to prevent us from being locked in between other cars while maintaining a good view of the animal. Our days were long, starting as early as 7am and lasting until almost 7pm, yet Peter still had the energy to take the time and clean the dust and dirt off the inside and outside of the car so we had a clean seat in the vehicle every day. Additionally the mini fridge in the car was always stocked with enough water to get through the day, in addition to beer, wine, and sodas/juice. Every day Peter also brought us lunch, which was nothing short of delicious. We never went hungry or thirsty during our game drives! Since you are with your driver the majority of your day their personality makes a huge difference in your experience. Peter was friendly, kind, and helpful to us and kept good conversation between animal sightings. He shared in our triumphs as we got photos all 5 animals in “the big 5.” Peter also got us two bottles of wine to celebrate our honeymoon. Besides safety, one of the most important qualities a safari driver could have is the ability to spot an animal from miles away. Peter has so much knowledge and experience in safari drives that there was not a single animal we missed seeing. We went in knowing that there is no guarantee of spotting every animal, especially the elusive leopard and rare black rhino, but not only did we see them, but we saw them multiple times. As a side note, there are certain areas within the parks that are off-limits to vehicles. Peter carried the utmost respect for the wildlife, and never strayed off the paths designated for safari vehicles. He managed to position us within a safe distance from the animals without disturbing their peace and safety. This trip was definitely one to remember, and required the least amount of planning on my part thanks to the team at Lion King. No detail was overlooked, and I was able to fully relax and enjoy every moment, because the Lion King took care of everything. The best part was the ability to customize the itinerary to what YOU want and having the vehicle to yourself without other groups/strangers in the car. They even handled planning the second portion of our trip to Zanzibar. (We did not climb Kilimanjaro, but they also offer guides for the climb). Do not hesitate to book with the Lion King if you are planning to visit Tanzania, and try to request Peter as your guide if he is available! (Although based on our experience and reading through other travelers reviews I’m sure every guide is amazing). I included photos that we took during our safari, just to show how wonderful of an experience we had, and how close we were to seeing the beautiful wildlife that inhabit the national parks in Tanzania. I did not use a fancy camera with an extreme zoom lens for any of these photos. The pictures are all taken from either my iPhone 15 or point and my old point and shoot camera (2019- Canon Powershot sx730).
