Incredibly unreal and unforgettable! - We reached out to Bright African Safaris and Salim responded immediately with some sample itineraries. He worked very closely with me building the itinerary based on our interests. I asked a million questions and he always responded same day with very specific answers. If a property we inquired about wasn’t available, he found an even better spot to replace it. He worked very quickly putting our trip together and payment was extremely easy and very trustworthy. I built a very nice relationship with Salim leading up to our trip and we were able to meet him in person the day after our arrival where he and the team greeted us with smiles and a nice welcome gift.
On arrival, Kilimanjaro airport was very clean and small, the visa line was maybe 30 minutes and then very easy to exit and find our driver.
We met our safari driver Mr. Rama Banana from Bright African Safaris. Full of smiles and very excited to begin our 7 day safari adventure. He drove us through Arusha and ended up on Ngorongoro crater a few hours later. We had lunch on the perimeter of the crater which was beautiful packaged in silver tins and delicious whole foods. Going down into the crater was beautiful, we were in the crater for 1-2hours and saw elephants, TONS of zebras, gazelles, thousands of flamingos, loads of buffalo, many ostrich, some hippos and 3 black rhino which is apparently very rare to see even one and a handful of lions and even caught 2 lions mating!
It was a crazy day!
We continued on our safari journey with Banana the next morning. We drove on the opposite crater rim to exit Ngorongoro area and head towards Serengeti. Along our drive we saw where the Masai people lived and we saw many giraffes galloping and grazing. So beautiful to witness.
We spent 3 days exploring this Ndutu area and saw endless wildlife that was unforgettable. To name just a few, we saw multiple lions napping/relaxing high up in trees, we saw heard of female lions with many cubs lying in the mud resting after finding water, so many impala and gazelle, giraffe were roaming amongst tall trees, elephant somehow camouflaged extremely well despite their grandiose size and were so stunning whenever we spotted them munching on their hundreds of pounds of greens, we saw a family of elephants with a cute little baby, a handful of miniature little deer called dik dik, some small red fox, managed to catch sight of a couple serval, a huge flying owl, many many maribu birds, vultures a plenty, we found 3 cheetas scoping the scene for prey and watched them charge at a giant antelope and then some impala, they came up empty but was very exciting to patiently wait and watch, our driver found a leopard very far up hiding in a tree eating a small buffalo it had just caught, we saw a heard of antelope called elan which are ridiculously giant, found a little mongoose running around after some food, there were many hippo floating around in lake Ndutu, thousands of flamingos in the lake and also flying in the sky with their stunning pink wings and black underside, so many tiny but brilliantly colored birds like love birds and so many others, and most of all hundreds of thousands of wildebeests with their brand new calves all constantly running around during their migration.
We spent 2 days exploring the Serengeti where we saw an entirely different ecosystem makeup. Some of the giraffes and elephants were much much darker in color than we had seen in prior locations. It was beautiful to see these animals roaming the beautiful grasslands. We saw a bunch of new birds and this is where we saw the most hyena. Our driver Banana ventured down a long muddy area with his amazing driving abilities and we were able to see yet another leopard lounging up in a tree, so beautiful. On that same day we came across a pack of lions (3 males, 2 females and 3 cubs) feasting on a buffalo, so incredible to watch. We headed toward the river where hippos congregate and happened upon an area with about 50 hippos all playing and splashing around, exuding their dominance no doubt. It was incredible to see. We saw a lot of baboon in this area and even a few other type of monkeys. We also caught eye of a couple crocodiles floating in the water and on the banks.
After an absolutely amazing safari we sadly had to leave. We took a small flight out from the Seronera airstrip to Arusha where another driver from the company was waiting our arrival. Mr. Godwin as well as Salim and other members of the team eagerly greeted us to ask how our safari had been. They were so happy and warm and friendly and really wanted to make sure we had a wonderful time, which we absolutely did. Our driver took us around Arusha to show us the area before bringing us to our hotel where we planned to relax for the night before leaving the next day. He again picked us up the next day and brought us to Kilimanjaro airport for our departure.
We recommend this company with the highest regards all around. We actually cannot wait to tell friends and family not only about our incredible trip but also the specifics of who to book it through and who to drive with. 100% 5 stars all around. Thank you thank you Bright African Safaris!

Amazing experience. Bright African Safari exceeded all our expectations. - When booking our eight day Safari, there were a lot of different tour companies offering an experience in Tanzania. Our priorities were to find a local company based out of Tanzania and a company that really took pride in their work. We didn’t necessarily need the biggest company or the most advertised, but we wanted a company that would really care about our personal experience. We eventually narrow down a list of hundreds of tour companies to a couple and chose Bright African Safari. If anybody else is in a similar situation of trying to first identify a really special Safari company, you don’t have to look any further. Choose this company. I can’t praise them highly enough. I would recommend them with no hesitation.
The entire process was individualized and really personalized for us. We worked with Salim to design the itinerary and he did an amazing job of explaining things and being flexible. he was incredibly responsive, which really helped us plan the Safari as we planned it with less notice than some others may plan in the future. He was excellent.
They worked out every detail to make things incredibly smooth. Once we landed at the airport, we didn’t have to worry about any meals, transportation, lodging, things to do, etc. They took care of everything and did so in a really special caring manner. We really felt like they loved making our experience so special.
Our Safari guide, Banana, was amazing. I know Bright African Safaris has a few different guides that I’ve read about in reviews that all sound great but Banana was really next level. His knowledge was fantastic. He had a beautiful smile and a great personality. He really loves nature, and it definitely shows. By the end of our trip, he was like family to us. He was fantastic.
We ended up booking more luxury style accommodations and were genuinely impressed with each place we stayed at.
I can’t say enough good things about this tour company. I would highly recommend using them. I’ve already recommended them to a number of family and friends that are interested in doing a similar trip.
I should add that I have worked with other tour companies from other places in the past and this company really stands out. I’ve also traveled extensively, including to east Africa, and there is no company that I would more strongly recommend than this one.

Excellent Local Travel Agency - I went in a 5 day safari with them, along with my sister, nice and daughter. I had a very good idea of the places I wanted to visit and Salim was very good tailoring a tour for us. Since this was our first Safari in Tanzania he was very good answering my questions and offering suggestions.
Our guide, another Salim, was brilliant. He knew exactly where to take us to see the game up close. He was also very friendly and patient with the girls. He was also very knowledgeable.
During our safari we saw the Mara river crossing of the wildebeest, a hiena hunt and eat its pray, lions climb trees and cheetahs get ready for their hunt.
We stayed at standard (mid-range) tented camps. They were very good. It’s impressive how they have toilets and showers inside your own tent. Even in the northern Serengeti.
I would highly recommend anyone considering a safari to go with bright African Safaris. They exceeded my expectations and made this an unforgettable experience.

Bright African Safaris is the BEST! - This was our second safari with Bright and we were excited to travel with them again. Msange (owner) and his crew are like family. The drivers are very professional and take great care of you right from pickup and back to drop off at the airport and all the way in between. Thank you Salim, Rujabu, Hamisi, and Hamis - you're the best! The safari was exceptional seeing so many animals including the migration. Bright also ensures that you never are lacking whether on the road or at the lodges. Lunches are incredible.....no box lunches for their guests. And best of all, the cost of the safari is most reasonable because they are a local company staffed by local people who know their country and communities. Even though this was our second trip into the Serengeti, Ndutu plains and Ngorongoro areas, we stayed at different lodges and travelled in different areas, thus making it just as exciting as the first.

You can't go wrong with Bright African! - My husband and I planned our honeymoon with Bright African Safari and it was the best decision ever! We contacted many agencies prior to deciding and felt Bright African was the best company for us. They were professional, reliable, and easy to communicate with from the beginning. Even though they were half way across the world, they always replied in a timely manner. Salim (tour organizer) shared a possible itinerary with us via email and we were able to make as many adjustments to the schedule/lodges as we wanted. They were flexible on what we wanted out of our trip.
Our tour guide was also named Salim and he was amazing!! He was very knowledgable, friendly, and made our trip memorable from the beginning to end. We don’t know how, but he was able to spot animals from miles away, even if they were hiding in trees! Our goal was to see the Big 5 and Salim made that happen! Everyday was a new adventure and as Salim would quote, ‘life (safari) is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you’re gonna get’ and he was right! Everyday we saw something new and each day was unpredictable.
One thing that makes Bright African stand out from other companies are the lunches. You don’t get a cold boxed lunch, but a hot lunch prepared by the lodges. It’s usually rice, a chicken/beef dish, and some fresh fruit. Salim parked the car in a safe area along the plains and would set up lunch. It was such a great experience being able to have lunch with the Serengeti view!
We also organized a round trip airport transfer and our driver, Hamis, was always on time. It was the same price as taking a taxi, but we felt more comfortable organizing this through the company. On our last day in Tanzania, we needed to be at the airport by 4:00am and Hamis arrived at our lodge by 3:30am to pick us up with a smile! He was always cheery and making us feel comfortable.
We highly recommend Bright African!! They made our honeymoon a trip of a lifetime and it’s all thanks to everyone at the company! A special thanks to both Salim’s for an unforgettable trip!

Amazing experience that words cannot describe! - Our faimily just completed a seven day safari with Bright African Safaris. Hamese, our guide, was more than knowledgeable and accommodating; and was the perfect person for us to spend 7 days with while exploring the Tanzanian wildlife. His professionalism and keen eye made this a trip of a lifetime. We were able to see the “Big Five” along with a multitude of other herbivores, carnivores and exotic birds. I would truly recommend Bright African Safaris (and Hamese) for your Tanzanian Safari.

Seeing the Black rhino - Only superlatives for this professional company who is there to escort you through the airports/get to the beautiful lodges / city tours.. But of course the best quality is the knowledge and insights of our Serengeti Master Guide, Salim who helped to sketch out the Serengeti’s Life as he found so many animal groups and birds. He knew the geological history of this beautiful landscape...Asante, Salim

wanderful trip with bright african safaris - The Incredible Wildlife Tour of Tanzania
We chose Bright African Safaris as our tour guide for the August 2019 Tanzania Wildlife Tour. The Bright African Safaris gives us the perfect animal tour. Its full of surprises. Luckily for us, Salim from the travel agency was our director on this trip to Africa. Salim had eagle eyes, scanning every moment, Seeing the animals the human eye cannot see, he showed us all he wanted to see, the magnificent wildebeest crossing the river, Tanzania is worth the trip! He also knows a lot about animals from the prairie to the humanities. We know Tanzania as well as about animals. Thank you, Salim! Well recommend Salim to friends who want to go to Africa.

Trip of a Lifetime - Our groups leader did his homework and found the BEST safari tour out there !!! Our group was 3 couples ages 55-85. We were treated so kindly and extra touches abounded. Our guide was Saliam Suleiman of Bright Africa safaris Tanzania he impressed us daily!!! We felt like his family he even gave us family names which made a fun interaction at every camp we stayed. We were sad to leave his guidance when we went to Zanzibar on our own. Everyday Saliam gave a 110% He was up early preparing a gourmet picnic which was notably better than any other company out there from table cloth warm food proper silverware and French press coffee every lunch. Every day we started with a clean vehicle and fresh water bottles and snacks in ATV which means Saliam put in more than 12 hours plus per day!!
We were amazed every day the amount of wild animals he showed us so up close you could almost touch them. I tried to challenge him and give a small creature to find the small dung beetle and he found two in the non rainy season. He made all of us so happy!!! I strongly suggest if you plan on taking an Africa safafri contact Bright Safaris and request Saliam for a trip of a lifetime!!!

Sublime Safari - We enjoyed a wonderful time with Bright African Safaris. We had two guides--Ali for the first day of safari in Tarangire, then Rajabu for the rest of the trip (Ngorongoro, Ndutu & Serengeti). Both were friendly and fantastic, and the sights were fantastic. We saw so many different animals (including the "big five"), all in their natural habitat and most up close (except the rhino which in our case was far away), and Ali & Rajabu were incredibly knowledgable. It was truly the trip of a lifetime. We opted for the luxury accommodations, and they did not disappoint, but the people were so friendly, I imagine that the trip would have been just as wonderful either way.
