Eye-Opening and Insightful Tour of Women in Athens - The “Women in Athens Tour” was incredibly knowledgeable, insightful, and truly eye-opening. Our guide, Maelle, was not only well-versed in the history of Athenian women but also made every moment interesting and engaging. Maelle was very friendly, and my husband and I loved our time with her as we uncovered the often-overlooked stories of women in ancient Athens. It was a refreshing and fascinating perspective on the city’s history. We highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to expand their understanding of Athens beyond the usual sights!

The Highlight of My Athens Trip! - This was the perfect first tour in Athens! Maelle is so kind and knowledgeable. She does a beautiful job at highlighting the lives of women along the tour and exploring the threads of how some of the same themes can still be seen today. The tour also passes many landmarks along the way and it ends at the Hill of the Muses, which is a beautiful spot to spend time and watch the sunset. I felt like I walked away from the tour with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the history of Greece and the women who helped shape it. I am also so grateful to Maelle for her generosity of still honoring my ticket and giving a tour with just the two of us when the other participants had to reschedule last minute. I can’t recommend Maelle or her tours enough

Unique tour about women in Ancient Greece - Had a fantastic ~2 hours with Maele on a small group walking tour learning about the women of Ancient Greece. I found the perspective fascinating and I’m glad I got to take this tour. She told very interesting stories you wouldn’t otherwise learn about. The tour leaves from Monastiraki, ends up near Plaka. It was hot in Sept still, so listen to the instructions about having water and what not, although Maele will guide you to shade spots as you move along.

Insightful and engaging tour - Don’t hesitate—book this now! Maelle is a delight: insightful, kind, inclusive, funny, and curious. She has curated such an interesting tour to both show the city and explain the past and present experience of women in and around Athens. I learned so much more than the average city tour. If you are interested in women's issues, social justice, history, politics, and/or humanity (and I hope it's all of the above), you should definitely make time for this tour during your trip. Thank you for a phenomenal experience, Maelle!

Unique Perspective With Small Group - This was an awesome walking tour! Maelle from Culture Hunters focuses on the role of women in ancient Athens. But in doing so, she provides a well-rounded view of all of city life at the time… the festivals, the politics, the mythology, and more. The tour ends with a great view of the Acropolis… just right for photos. And Maelle also provided us with a fantastic lunch recommendation. A perfect morning.

A tour not to miss - an experience that will be the highlight of your holiday in Athens - My tour with Maelle has been the highlight of my two day adventure in Athens. We easily met in Monastiraki Square and set off on a two hour walk through the lives of women in Ancient Greece, real and mythical. Maelle wove a narrative that was fascinating, informative and made me think. Her knowledge and passion for Greece and Greek culture was obvious. I had been looking for an experience outside the usual tourist offerings and this tour was perfect. We went to areas often missed by tourists. I would do the tour again in a heart beat. Athena, and the city that bears her name, has found a home in my heart and I hope to return. Thank you Maelle.

Learn about women in classical Greece - Learning about Aspasia, who was a philosopher as well as the mistress of the classical Greek statesman Pericles. Seeing the market and the meeting place where Athenian citizen men voted, and hearing that their wives were forbidden to go to the market or to vote

Great info on the lives of women in classical Greece. - Maelle from Culture-Hunters gave me a great tour of classical Greek historical sites, explaining what women might have done at each one. She talked about different classes of women, including poor women, slaves, and courtesans, not just the wives of wealthy citizens. Maelle was willing to give the tour just for me, as no one else has signed up for the day I choose.
