Tour from Smile Tour to Gobustan - I was in Azerbaijan in early November, and not visiting the first human parking lot in Gobustan would be a real crime. I turned to the travel agency Smile Your again, as I already know them. The tour included a visit to The first oil rig, Bibi-eibat mosque, Gobustan+ mud volcanoes national park, Yanardag fire mountain, and Ateshghah fire temple. The tour was led by guide Samir, who not only talked interestingly about the place we were in, but also did everything to make the group feel comfortable, for which he was thanked in particular. For example, before visiting Gobustan, we stopped for a snack in a small cafe where we could taste one of the national dishes of Azerbaijan-Kutaba.🥟 Anyway, like the last time, everything went great👍 and we returned to Baku around 5-6 pm, so there's still time to go for an evening walk in Baku🌆 Separately I would like to mention driver Sahib, thanks to his knowledge of the city we visited all traffic jams in cities, so on this day, it was Victory Day in Azerbaijan and many roads were blocked.

Well Taken Care Of - A thoroughly enjoyable experience. I was feeling quite tired from a late night before but Mustafa was very attentive and cool about it. I was the only English speaker in my group but Mustafa made sure I had an equal experience to the others and often would come and talk to me one-to-one to ensure I was enjoying myself.

Fantastic trip - highly recommended - Exceelent day out - guide needs to work on informing the group and lunch meal was slow - very. I had to adk for my meal 4 times. Meal not included in trip, but was organised by the tour. Other than that highly recommend both tour and the tour company. If you do just one tripndo this one. Not mentioned anywhere is the superb modern natural history museum (animal skeletons) at the mud volcanos (really good). Overall one of the best day trips I have been on in a long time.

Thank you Tabriz - Today I joined the tour with our guide Tabriz. He is really a cool and friendly guy, who tried his best to make our journey enjoyable. Although the tour was a bit tight in schedule, we make it on time. Recommend!

volcano tour - The tour started one hour late and had to wait for an hour for other guests to arrive. The tour guide was constantly coughing without the mask over his mouth or nose. He should have never been allowed to conduct this tour

Disappointed - This tour is very rushed in places, especially in the morning, and could be better balanced. If all you want is to take photos, it’s fine, but there’s just no time to absorb anything. At times, the day felt like a forced march. At the petroglyphs, we appeared to be trying to set a record for the quickest lap of the site, and then we were only allocated 18 minutes for the interesting museum - pointless. Conversely, the 20 minutes in the museums at the mud volcanoes were a waste of precious time - an exhibition of animal skeletons that may or may not have anything to do with Azerbaijan (a circus elephant, a dingo?!?) and a showcase of minerals found in the mud. The mud volcanoes are more like mud zits, and you certainly can’t look into them or play in the mud - you have to stick to the path - so be wary of promotional photos. There was little bubbly mud when were there, but that is the luck of the draw. The guide was informative but it was very hard to hear her in the van. There was also a ridiculous situation in small rooms at the fire temple where she was trying to speak at the same time as a loud Russian guide so again couldn’t hear anything she said. There was no time to wait and let the other guide move ahead. I didn’t eat at the lunch stop but from what i heard, the food was poor and expensive. The stop is not particularly well located to find alternatives - a whole street of home improvement shops. From my perspective, the tour would be better trying to do less, but do them properly.

Wrong day to take this tour. - I recognise that the tourism industry is still in its infancy in Azerbaijan and we visited all the places promised. The tour guide was informative but not responsive to complaints which he either ignored or deflected. One main complaint was that lunch didn't happen until 19.00 in the evening because the roads were so bad post the Formula 1 race and the tour also happened on the same day the schools and universities went back. The tour started over 1 hour late as people couldn't get to the departure point. They don't actually pick up and drop off from hotels outside a small area. Many on the coach were also left without water for over 5 hours on a hot day. Common sense would have been to NOT run the tour that day due to known traffic issues. Overall, the tour is interesting (perhaps its two tours as the main places are on opposite sides of Baku) but be prepared for fire mountain to be underwhelming as its not a mountain. The coach was modern and comfortable (Mercedes minibus) and fellow guests very international so we had some great conversations given how long we were stuck on the coach. One final piece. As with any tour like this where you are taken to lunch and have to pay, it will be more expensive than if you had chosen the location yourself, there are no alternatives around the location. It is what it is but the food was good and service good too.

WORST EXPERIENCE IN BAKU!! FRAUD - DONNOT BOOK THE TRIP ON THIS WEBSITE, unless you’re stupid! The price on TripAdvisor is much expensive than you book at shop. You only have to pay 30 ANZ, but through this website you have to pay 146ANZ!! It’s totally FRAUD!! And there is not enough time at all for all the stop. Because the driver had to go back to the meeting point to pick up more people. And the time you’ll lunch is 15.30 pm, ALL THE PEOPLE ARE STARVING.
