- Dari-Ekh Street - Meet the host, Bee, at your hotel in Ulaanbaatar and travel together by car, taxi, or public transport to his family’s traditional ger, situated approximately 5 km from the city center. A ger is a circular, felt-covered tent traditionally used by nomadic families throughout Mongolia.
Upon arrival, Bee and his wife Soy will greet you with warm nettle tea, foraged from a nearby mountain, and introduce you to Mongolian daily life, customs, and culinary traditions.
Participate in a private, hands-on cooking class where you will prepare classic Mongolian dishes using fresh, local ingredients and family recipes passed down through generations. You might learn to make handmade noodle soup and traditional steamed dumplings while gaining insight into Mongolian cuisine and nomadic culture.
After cooking, sit down to enjoy the meal you helped prepare, which may include noodle soup, steamed dumplings, and sheep meat, shared in a warm family setting inside the ger. Conclude the experience by learning shagai, a traditional Mongolian knuckle bone game and a family favorite.
This immersive experience offers a unique opportunity to cook, eat, and connect with a local family just outside Ulaanbaatar.

Begzsuren will collect you from your hotel for a bona fide Mongolian cultural and culinary journey! Absorb the techniques of making buuz, a traditional Mongolian speciality of steamed dumplings, and homemade noodle soup among other delicacies.
Both Begzsuren and his spouse, Mungunsoyombo, inherited their culinary skills at a young age from their respective families. Mungunsoyombo’s knowledge on traditional food has been enriched by her background in nutritional studies, leading her to make healthier versions of the dishes. They inhabit a customary Ger house in Ulaanbaatar’s suburban area with their trio of children. A Ger house is an indigenous, minimal, relocatable, and round-shaped tent blanketed with felt, typically found as an abode in Central Asia. You’ll be warmly received by Begzsuren, Mungunsoyombo and their children with a cup of hot herbal tea made from nettles freshly picked by Begzsuren from a herb garden. Engage in this culinary session and meal at Begzsuren’s home to gain an insight into the Mongolian lifestyle, traditions and gastronomy.
