Best Shopping Day Ever! - My friend and I decided to spend the last day in Beijing shopping. We came across this activity on Trip Advisor and decided to sign up for it. Anson confirmed our tour the day before and was at our hotel the next day in time to start the day. He asked what our interests were and after some thought he laid out the plan of going to a tea market, Hong Qiao Pearl Market and Panjanyuan flea market. He offered to assist us with bargaining if and when necessary and sure enough we came out way ahead with every purchase. It helped that there were hardly tourists around because of the low season and vendors were desperate for customers. We appreciated his ability to translate as we wouldn't have been successful in trying to understand what was said. All in all if there was a rating of 10 I'd give Anson that!

Fantastic shopping - Our guide, Sophia, meet us in our hotel lobby. We told her what we were looking for, and so she took us to first the Pearl Market followed by Silk Street. She was invaluable in helping find quality products and fantastic prices. She was ruthless in helping us bargain for the best prices and saved us lots of stress and money. Everyone in the group agreed the tour was worth it, and if we returned to Beijing we would go with this tour again. The tour was supposed to be 6 hours, but we were shopped out after 5 hours!

Shopping with Linda - What a treat! - We ended our three-week trip to China in Beijing on the Saturday of Golden Week. Rather than go to the normal attractions with the throngs of people gathered for the 70th anniversary celebration, we opted to go shopping. Linda picked us up at our hotel and toured us through an amazing outdoor market. Not only did she help us to barter for good prices, she also carried our purchases for us. Because a couple of the normal markets were closed for the Holliday, we had a few hours left on our tour. After leaving the Pearl Market, we found that we were very close to the Temple of Heaven. Linda graciously agreed to take us there. She was incredibly knowledgeable of this historical site and gave us a first rate tour of this site. As a matter of fact, of the 10+ guides that we had throughout our trip, she was the very best. Linda is very charming with a terrific sense of humor! I would highly recommend her to you if your travels bring you to Beijing.

Shopping and Private Tour - Becky is the BEST. She arrived promptly and donned a smile that easily put us at ease. She listened carefully to what we wanted to shop for and made suggestions accordingly. She was great to find clean restrooms and offered a lot of Chinese history that wasn’t necessarily part of the tour! We enjoyed Becky so much we asked her to be our private guide the next day to Old Beijing, Summer Palace and more. Great tours lead by a delight young lady.

The only way to shop in Beijing! - Shopping with Linda was one of the highlights of our trip! We had some basic ideas of what we wanted (typical souvenir items plus some more obscure things like artwork and figurines). She knew exactly where to take us and helped us get a fair price on everything (we often paid a small fraction of the original price that vendors offered). We had a blast on this tour and would definitely recommend it!

Truly Wonderful Experience - We all know there are great bargains in China, but for a first-time visitor to Beijing who doesn’t speak the language, I had no idea where to start. I had done some shopping in Shanghai’s markets on my own a few years ago, and had managed, but had found the experience a bit stressful, not speaking the language, knowing the customs, or being sure I was in the right place for the stuff I was looking for. I wish I had had a tour like this back then. Before I booked, I was nervous because there were only 2 reviews on TripAdvisor when I signed up, but this tour was everything I’d hoped it would be and more! Linda took me to all the shopping areas I never would have found on my own. And with a driver it made everything so easy and comfortable. She translated for me with the shopkeepers and even gave Feng Shui tips for decorating! Linda was so fun and chatty, it was like shopping with a good friend back home. Far away from the tourist traps I got some amazing deals on prescription eyeglasses, art and handbags. The money I saved getting out of the tourist traps paid for the cost of the tour many times over and, even if I hadn’t found things to buy, the experience itself was so fun it was well worth it. I loved the open air market we visited, with brightly colored stalls surrounded by brightly colored shops where I didn’t see another tourist the whole time we were there. It was a delightful way to spend a Spring day and with Linda there, I didn’t have to worry about getting lost or misunderstanding the shopkeepers. She brought me to areas of the market that had exactly the products I was looking for, but with many many different individual vendors to choose from so I always had a great selection. If you want to explore Beijing’s markets, but don’t know where to begin, this is the tour you’re looking for. Or if you know where to go, but are a little nervous about how to navigate the experience, I highly recommend this tour and Linda specifically! You won’t regret it!

Wonderful!! - Becky was our guide and was wonderful. Our hotel was far from the city and we would have spent all day trying to get there, but driver picked us up at hotel and took us directly to the silk market where we met Becky. She took us through the market and we had the best dumplings for lunch. Becky was so much fun and a great help for us with the Chinese language. What a great day and the best shopping experience.
