• Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve - Nohoch Che’en Caves features extensive cave systems with the Caves Branch River flowing through its main channel. This is the site for the renowned cave tubing, Crystal Cave exploration, and cave kayaking experiences. Visitors can float through the main channel of these vast cave systems by tubing or paddle through them in a kayak.

At Nohoch Che’en, guests utilize the facilities and gather their gear before embarking on a 20-minute hike to the caves. Once there, they can engage in cave tubing or kayaking through the expansive cathedral cave system and swim in the crystal-clear pools within the caves. The cave exit is surrounded by the rainforest, offering enchanting and awe-inspiring views. It’s a sight that must be seen to be believed. After this dream-come-true adventure, guests can enjoy a hearty local dish and refreshing local fruit juice. Enjoy a one-hour sightseeing journey on the way to the caves. Upon reaching the caves’ parking area, take advantage of the modern facilities. The guide will provide a life jacket, helmet, light, and paddle. Walk to the river crossing along a gravel stone forest path, so wearing tennis shoes is recommended for comfort. Upon arrival at the caves, embark on a kayaking adventure through a network of cave systems adorned with lifelike sculptures that spark the imagination. Experience the dark caves illuminated only by flickering headlamps. Stop to swim and touch the waterfall, then walk inside the caves to admire crystallized formations and swim in the crystal-clear pools. This remarkable section is explored by very few, revealing many stunning formations in vast cathedral-like caves. Evidence of Maya occupation is visible with broken pottery on the cave floor, dating back over a thousand years. Swim across the pools, return to the kayaks, and paddle to the cave’s exit.
