An amazing way to see Hilo - What a memorable trip to Hilo! Anthony and Desmond made our family feel right at home as we got to see the many amazing sights along the tour. During our tour they offered to stop at the Hilo Farmer's Market and pickup fresh pineapple to sample while viewing rainbow falls. They also came with a very extensive knowledge of the island history and several artifacts to display. Next time we're in Hilo we look forward to seeing Shakka boys!

Awesome tour of the Big Island - This fabulous tour takes you to all the main attractions of the Big Island. From volcano to waterfall to beach! The tour guide and driver were great and informative. Highly recommend this tour 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Insightful and fun - Wonderful tour to several of Big Island's main attractions. I was nervous having never done a tour like this before (especially on my own as a young woman) but all my worries were immediately squashed upon arrival. The tour guides were lovely, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the history of each location. The tour included several long drives between locations, but they kept it interesting by explaining what we were seeing along the way and telling stories. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Big Island for a short period of time who wants to see as much as possible and learn about the history of this place from people who have first-hand experience.

The perfect tour - This was one of the best tours we went on. It’s a smaller group which works best for timing and accessibility unlike the bigger tour buses. The lunch was at the cutest local restaurant and with great food. All the vibes we were looking for on our trip. Desmond and Anthony made sure everyone’s experience was great. The amount of knowledge we left with about this beautiful island was far more than we ever thought we would get from a tour. It’s a must do. Thank you!

Awesome Tour in KONA for the Volcano State Park - All of it was memorable! Our guides were great. They were very patient and accommodating to our viewing delights. Also, we had a FABULOUS lunch in Volcano Villiage at a great restaurant, top notch. We did more than we could have ever expected and would do the tour with Shakka Brothers again. They went out of their way to make it a memorable experience.

A MUST DO IN HILO!!! - This is a MUST DO experience! Don’t let the 7 reviews scare you away. My wife and I had the best tour experience we have ever had yesterday. Anthony and Desmond were two of the most authentic people you will ever meet in life. They did an amazing job showing us the Hilo side of the island. There was never pressure to get back on the bus. They were always finding fresh flowers to show us and let us smell. We even got to eat a cherry guava and fresh cracked macadamia nuts that Desmond kindly cracked for us as we toured the black sand beach. I cannot stress how happy we were with this tour! If you are looking for something to do in Hilo, DO THIS TOUR!!! Thank you Desmond and Anthony, I hope we meet again in the future!

Will be back - Anthony and the driver were the nicest tour guides we have ever have. They answered all our questions and were very knowledgable. They also went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience.

Peacefully awe inspiring - Most memorable moments were the black sand beach and turtles, the fresh macadamia nuts shelled by our gentle and calm guide Desmond..Anthony is a gem.. warm, playful and professional.

Great experience, sub-par lunch - The experience was great, however there was an issue with the lunch. Even though the guide called in our order prior to our arrival, lunch was served later than others who arrived after us. As well my meal was cold & my spouse waited an additional 30mins for his meal (thankfully his was hot). The lodge offered a slice of pie as restitution, however I believe a credit is in order.

Not for active exploration - First of all, I need to say that Antony and Desmond went far and beyond to make this tour interesting. However, unfortunately this tour includes long time of driving from one attraction to the other with little time spent exploring the attractions. To be precise, you drive more than an hour to look at two sleeping turtles at the black beach if you lucky. If not, there will be no turtles at all. Than you drive 35-40 minutes to the restaurant which is full with similar groups. We had waited for our lunch for at least 25 minutes and received absolutely cold fish and chips as if our food was standing those 25 minutes somewhere is the kitchen waiting to be served. Then, we went to the Volcano national park. We were brought to the information centre and stayed there about 15 minutes. I was not quite sure, what was the purpose of this. Then, we went to see the crater and vents. This was cool but we did not have time for any longer exploration or do walking trails, which was sad. The same is e about the lave tube. After, we came to a candy store which was not interesting for us at all. I had an impression, that this excursion is organised with the aim that you are expected to spend more money in the touristy places rather than explore.
Overall, this trip is rather for elderly people who cannot walk and explore. If you want to see and experience more, to do some walking trails or hiking, it is better to rent a car and simply drive to those places and explore on your own.
