Setting Sail from Blue Bay

As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours riding the waves and exploring the hidden gems of the Caribbean. But when I heard about the Ile Aux Cerfs Adventure, I knew I had to experience it for myself. The promise of a speedboat tour exploring five mystical islands was too tempting to resist.

The day began with a friendly driver picking us up from our cozy beachside accommodation. As we made our way to the port near Preskil, our driver doubled as a guide, sharing fascinating tidbits about the local culture and landmarks. It was a delightful start to what promised to be an unforgettable adventure.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the crew of One Love, who welcomed us aboard their spacious speedboat. With only 12 guests and two crew members, the atmosphere was intimate and relaxed. As the boat set off, the cool breeze and rhythmic beats of island music set the perfect tone for the day ahead.

Exploring the Mystical Islands

Our first stop was the Blue Bay Marine Park, a haven for sea lovers like myself. The crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs were a snorkeler’s paradise. As I dove beneath the surface, I was greeted by a kaleidoscope of tropical fish, their colors dancing in the sunlight. It was a mesmerizing experience that reminded me of why I fell in love with the ocean in the first place.

Next, we cruised to the shipwreck of the Dalbair at Pointe d’Esny. The history of this sunken vessel added an intriguing layer to our journey, and I couldn’t help but imagine the stories it held. From there, we made our way to Ile aux Aigrettes, where we enjoyed a refreshing cocktail in a natural swimming pool surrounded by starfish.

The adventure continued as we visited Ile aux Phare, home to an ancient lighthouse that stood as a testament to the island’s rich history. Walking around the island, I felt a deep connection to the past, as if the whispers of sailors long gone were carried on the wind.

A Feast on Ile Aux Cerfs

As the sun reached its zenith, we arrived at the highlight of our journey: Ile Aux Cerfs. The island’s pristine beaches and swaying palm trees were a sight to behold. Here, we were treated to a sumptuous BBQ lunch, complete with freshly grilled lobster—a delightful surprise that made the experience even more special.

The crew entertained us with live music and traditional sega dance, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere. With a drink in hand and the sound of laughter filling the air, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for this incredible day.

As the afternoon sun began to dip below the horizon, we made our way back to the mainland. The return journey was filled with laughter and camaraderie, a fitting end to a day that had exceeded all expectations.
