A very well organised and well led tour - a must do! - A brilliant half day tour with Julie to a couple of Chateaux in the Margaux region. Julie was so friendly and knowledgeable about Bordeaux, its wine regions as well as the history of the area. The two chateaux we visited were both very different so a great contrast and both Anna Sophie and Mali from each chateau gave us informative and enjoyable tastings. Would definitely recommend Rustic Vines. Julie was very helpful when we were booking our tours from Australia and emailed us straight away with any information we needed. Merci beaucoup!

Great fun and learned loads - The tour was great. Easy to find their office in central Bordeaux. Andrew, our guide, was knowledgeable and fun. I had a bit of wine knowledge prior to the trip, but learned loads from him and Virginie the host at Chateau Haut-Breton. The chateau tour was very interesting and really taught us more about the wine making process. There were two tastings at separate vineyards and both were hugely enjoyable. Andrew even sneaked us a look at the actual Chateau Margaux.

Medic and St Emilion - Absolutely recommend 110%. Great company, courteous drivers and delicious wine! We did the half day Médoc and a full day in St Emilion to experience and compare both banks. The wine was different but delicious everywhere. I'd definitely check out their tours again if back in Bordeaux!

Unfortunately disappointed - I am hesitant to give this 3 stars because I’m really not trying to be negative, however, I had particular expectations going into this tour and was sadly disappointed. Let’s face it: going to Bordeaux to wine taste is intimidating. As I learned from this tour, there are over 9,000 wineries in the region. I’m not a big tour person in general, but with the structure our our trip it didn’t make sense to try and go this alone. So, we decided to opt for a tour. Being from the USA and living near a decent amount of wine-country I was thinking it would be similar as far as tastings go. The thing is you can’t really schedule just a tasting. You have to do the full tour at each winery before you taste, which personally, I’m not interested in doing each time. Sure 1 or 2 is fine but after that … I get it. So, my struggle in writing this review is I think my issue is maybe more with how wine country in Bordeaux operates vs. how this particular agency did it. That being said, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. He drove us out about 45 minutes and then hands you off to the specific winery’s staff who goes through the tour. I thought the wine was quite good but I also felt like they were really stingy with their pours. At the first winery we only tried 2. The second place we tried 3. In my opinion, it seems like by booking a tour there should be some sort of perk/treatment like giving you a full glass while you tour the grounds etc. Maybe my expectations are off but I think these are things one should know prior to booking the tour.

A lot of knowledge but little wine - Thomas was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable about wine. We learned so much. He even made us a reservation at a local restaurant that had a wine cellar where you picked your own bottle. I chose based on what I learned on the tour and was told I made an excellent choice! The downside was it is listed as a half day tour, but it only lasted barely 3 hours with only two stops. I would have expected to visit more wineries and have more tastings.
